Default The official c6 manifold turbo setup for f-body thread

Hey everyone. Hopefully this thread will provide a lot of information for people who are interested in trying this.

First off, I have NOT tried this yet. I've debated many options of how to keep the A/C without buying/making expensive turbo headers, which leads me to believe that I may try out the c6 manifold setup. I think you can use stock manifolds, but you need a lot more piping/work and from what I hear the c6's make the job much easier.

Thus far I only know one person who has tried this (RICE ETR). Here are a few threads that mention something about this setup.

Question about tubular k-members

General thread about c6 manifolds

Little post I had going

RICE ETR
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...915&highlight=
and picture of his manifold setup:

Seems like that 2 bolt flange needs an O ring to seal right

There also have been others that thought about attempting the build but haven't heard any updates from them.

Does anyone know if you can use a stock k-member? Would that eliminate the idea of going above the k member & have to run the pipes below? I wonder if there's any way to run everything above the k member & still work around the compressor? I've already put the new motor in so I really don't want to lift the motor up again and change k members.

Been planning on doing a C6 manifold setup but thought I would wait a while before starting on it. Well....... got back from MadMans shop yesterday and my old N/A Y-pipe wont fit back on the car, the torque arm crossmember is in the way, so it looks like I will be starting on it very soon. I have pretty much everything I need except for the BMR K-member & an injector driver. I'll post pics of the progress.

My C6 mainfolds are in the mail. I still have to get some more parts before I can start my build though. Hopefully I'll have everything by the first of June as I'm trying to get her done in time for the GM nationals in Carlisle PA. Gotta love turbo, you never run out of things to buy

I have a set of the C6 Manifolds sitting in the shop along side a BMR Turbo K-member. I have several builds going and am swamped. As soon as I get caught back up it game on with a C6 Manifold kit that will work with the A/C.

I will not be building one unfortunatley, but this is the current dream plan for me. I will be very interested to see stock and aftermarket k-member clearance. Will the up-pipe from the C6 manifold need to loop around the outside of the k-member to clear the A/C compressor? Will the BMR turbo k-member be able to keep the pipe inside the k-member and clear?

I am planning a C6 manifold twin turbo build. I'm going to try and run both manifolds with AC and all accessories and everything above the k-member. One member on here I've talked to said he has already build this setup and that you can make both manifolds work.

I'm planning on saving myself some headache and use BMR's turbo K-member. Its part# KM013 I think, you can actually get a 5" downpipe past this baby!

i may just buy a passenger side mani to play with, only thing i'd wonder about is were to get the flange and o ring kit from. but basically mine is like that already as the passenger side goes under the ac comp above the bmr k.... but it is also merged with the driver side with a cross over going bellow the tranny

The stock GM 2 bolt gasket works well with these manifolds and I have a few sets of the two bolt flanges laying around and can make more if anyone is interested.

Here's mine:

What size are the studs on the flange?? Any room to go with a bigger stud? Would there be any benefit? Wonder what psi those GM gaskets would be good to? And what material are those gaskets made of?

The exhaust outlet flange is threaded for 10mm. I used bolts instead of studs for my application. Factory gasket is a compressed steel kinda deal, looks to me like it would hold up JUST fine for boost.

These things do work, my super budget build is working great so far

Awesome. I wonder if you could drill and tap those holes for a 1/2" stud?

The UPS guy just brought mine. It looks like there is plenty of room to enlarge the hole for a bigger stud.

is it really all that necessary for a bigger stud though?

I've really got to figure out a way for front mount to keep a/c and run y pipe above stock k member without spending tons of money on turbo headers or aftermarket k member.

I dont think there is a need at all for bigger studs in the manifolds, I do think its going to be very challenging fo you to use the stock K-member and keep the ac.
