Default LS3 with E85, for use on track

Hi!
As some of you know, I am building a Skyline R32 with LS3 engine, L76/L92 top end, LS7 injectors, 92mm throttle body, Preformance cam and so on.

The thing is, I was going to run the engine on 98octane fuel, but new racing regulation in Norway states that I need Catalytic converters, and I need two of then with a Diameter of 3" (One goes up to 4L engine...). And they cost aprox. $400 each...

Since I was allready planning to make fuel pump, filters, hoses and so on E85 compatible, I was wondering what size injectors I should choose.
I have adjustable pressure regulator.

I am planning aproximly 550-600+ hp on 98 octane and 600-700+ on E85. (Want to see what a tune can do, and I have a perfomance cam in the engine).

So, What size and make of injectors should I choose?
I have been looking at Fast Precision-Flow 65lb/hr injectors, but I dont know if they are large enaugh or a good brand eather...

In order to not have your injector duty cycle up really high I would personally go with some 96 lb injectors! With an adjustable regulator you could change the base pressure depending on the fuel you are running! The E85 tune would need a higher fuel pressure than the 98 octane to keep you duty cycle under control. As far as the pumps go a twin walbro set up should be about perfect but will be getting close to the max with 700 whp on E85!

With the math we use to calculate the additional consumption of E85, I believe an ,83lb injector @3bar sound about right. @ 4 bar they will flow 95lb.

We can do brand new LS2,3,7 drop ins in that size for $65 each, flow matched, viton o-rings installed.

Here's the math with 700 HP on E85. If your going to make more than this you'll need about what FICINJECTORS recommends.

Hi!
Thanks. Are these high impedance?

What about low impedance injectors? Can they be directly fitted to LS harness/brain? if not, what is needed to use low impedance injectors?

And what are the advantage/disadvantages with high/low impedance injectors?

DO NOT BUY WALBORO PUMPS. Biggest piece of shit I have ever used. Three pumps burned out in a row and I lost my engine becaues it went lean so much. I ended up with ac delco pump and fuel system is perfect now but engines already gone.

Injenctor size is roughly double what gas would be. Why would you used E85?? Are you planning to up compression or run turbos because you will never be able to fully take advantage of the octane of E85. Due to the cooling characteristics of E85 it is shown to act more like 116 octane.

Compression can be alot higher if you want to run that I would expect 700 whp might be an underestimate if you bump the compression.

Hi!
I am most likely going to use Aeromotive or Fast Performance inline fuel pump, since it is a Race setup.

If you read my first post, new regulation in Norwegian racing, I have a choice to use E85 or mount two 3" race Catalytic converters...

I also dream about twin turbo (T3 or T4 turbos) setup next winter. But I need to see how the car function during this season before I make my mind up...

I have figured out that I need to change fuel rail while I'm at it, and I want your opinion on this setup for E85 fuel setup:
AEI-12304 (100 Micron fuel filter)
AEI-11101 (A1000 Fuel Pump)
AEI-12301 (10 Micron Fuel Filter)
AEI-15620 (Y splitter)
AEI-13101 (A1000 Fuel Bypass Regulator)
AEI-14115 (LS3/L76 Fuel Rail)

According to Aeromotive, this setup should be good for 1000hp forced induction or 1300hp NA.

Do anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know how I didn't see this.

They are high impedance. These are plug and play drop ins for an LS2/3/7

To use low impedance, you will need harness adapters, spacing on the fuel rails because they will be longer, and an aftermarket brain or a separate piggy back driver box and harness.

There is little difference anymore for low vs. high, but when going VERY large injectors, low is preferred because they can open slightly faster.

Looks like a solid list for a great fuel system. What size lines are you contemplating and where?

was thinking about following the "template" from aeromotive:
