I have a 1 gallon fuel cell for my nitrous system and I pulled mine out by removing the cap and ring assembly, not very easy, but once I had it off, I could get my big paws in there. I removed it before i drilled and tapped a fitting, cleaned it, and then put the foam back in, I would recommend keeping the foam and re-installing it once you have cleaned it. the foam was not very easy to pull out and harder to put in by the way, but can be done.

Why is the foam in there? For help towards not starving the pump?

The foam acts as a baffle, keeping the fuel slosh under control.
Have yur wife pull the foam out. If she won't, ask the G/F to do it....

acually its so when the tank gets a hole in it, if it does, it drips out instead of pours
