It can handle a 42 injector but what the use of it if your stock fuel pump does not flow enough fuel

Its not a matter of injector size that the stock pump can handle, its a combination of the maximum amount of power that they can together support, with the injector acting as a "middle man" with limits. Fuel pumps don't "handle" injectors. Injectors can inject there given rate of flow. A fuel pump can either support the amount of fuel the engine is requiring or not, regardless of injector size, unless you are maxing out the injector you have. Then you can put a bigger injector in to allow the pump to support the required amount of fuel. Im sorry its so confusing, I cant really think of a good way to explain it.

I think what he's asking, which I'm curious about too, is can the stock pump flow enough fuel to maximize a 42# injector? Or better yet, what size injector can the stock pump support with the injector still being the limiter? If that makes sense....

I really don't know for sure, as it would vary car to car. But I would definately say that the stock pump cannot safely provide the adequate fuel for a 42lb injector to be at 80% duty cycle or more at 59 or so psi.

More info needed about your setup. Im guessing if you have the power output that would require 42# injectors then.. Simply.. HELL NO..

I would replace the pump before the injectors. The pump is about $100.. 42#'rs will run you over $200 brand new.

You can keep the stock injectors and throw in A 255 pump and be fairly well off with A cam only setup right in the 400Hp area. CHANGE THE PUMP!

I basically said the same thing as you. I just said I couln't say for sure what he will need, as I didn't know his setup, but if he is requiring a 42 lb injector, then, NO, the stock pump will not do.
