3rd gen rear end
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...t-3rd-gen.html
(asked for it to be moved but nothin')
The Story- im getting a free 3rd gen rear end with an eaton posi and 3.73s, the rear is 1.5 inches shorter so id have to get spacers..
My Questions-
- can i put my 28 spline axles into the eaton if its a 26 spline (assuming its a pre-90 rear)
- can i swap the interals into my housing so that i dont need to get spacers

No, the axle housing is narrower thus you will have shorter axleshafts. You will have to purchase aftermarket 28 spline axles and change the gears in the Eaton to get to 28 spline.

just seached CZ28 and seems like 26 and 28 spline axles are jsut as strong as one-another, but 28s jsut has a tigher fit at 0 backlash... girdle and should be good for mid 12s?
