Default will changing tire size effect gear ratio??

if i were to change 245/50/16 with a tire diameter of 25.64 in to 275/40/17 with tire diameters of 25.97 in, does it effect the ratio at all

what would the change in tire size do to the 1/4 mile??
higher or slower mph, et???

Not all brand tires are the same height and width either. The actual size depends on the brand and you'd have to measure the height or around the tire itself (and divide by 3.14) to find out if its really 25.97 or off by a lot.

Given online at Nitto? Nitto should know how tall their tires are and publish the right specs for their particular tires, but maybe not. Fbody.org says 25.66 for the new size and 25.64 for the old 16in so that's really really close...
