I got 4.10's in my car this week. I drove the car for 200 long miles to break in the gears even though i was told 500 I could't resist to drive it hard to really feel the difference. I have to say that I am very impress with the acceleration, it put a huge smile on my face.
The downside,
I do spin the tires like crazy now on 1st and 2nd but I got bold tires, hopefully with new tires it won't be so bad.
The worst thing is that I have always had problems with my clucth pedal sticking to the floor, but usually if I change the fluid the car runs fine.
Now it's horrible everytime I step on the gas the clucth pedal stays on the floor and even after I pump it several times it's really hard to put it into a gear.
Maybe it's time to put in a new MC.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
I would say do a new master cylinder and how many miles do you have maybe think about putting a new slave cylinder in it too. I have the same problem with my clutch pedal sticking to to the floor so im gonna put new master cylinder and slave. Try that it should fix your problem.
I just put 4.10s in my ride as well. I could not believe the difference. With my car, the 3.42s were just too low of a gear with my huge cam. Well, the 4.10s really woke her up!

actually, i just read somewhere that 4.10 on my car only bring down the mpg 1 on both highway and city, dont know the truth on it, but if thats round about the case ima get me some 4.10s to replace my 3.73s,
also, my clutch is doing the same thing, but a lil different, say im in a parking lot, cars ahead of me moving slow, i keep it in first, move forward, (releasing the clutch) then having to push it in to stop for cars ahead, (still keeping it in first)...well after i do that a few times, my clutch gets SO hard to keep it held down, i have to pop it into neutral otherwise if i try and go my cars gonna jump into the car ahead of me...
can anyone tell me what thats all about?
ive heard its possible its the slave or master but not sure, thanks
FWIW, I have never gotten 1st gear to hook. Period. But, still rockin the 10 bolt and nothing better than BFG GForce 275 tires.
My gas mileage hasnt really changed. If you can road trip/cruise at 60mph then you can get about 30mpg depending on your mods. Obviously the faster you drive the worse your mileage will be. People loose their minds when it comes to gears and gas mileage.
On the M/C note: Go with a tick and never look back!
How are you guys liking the 4.10 on the freeway, what are your rpms at around 70 mph?
cdnt tell ya, but like i said, from what ive read and heard 4.10's only bring down mpg like 1 on freeway and town, so after i look into it more, ill prob end up goin to them instead of my 3.73's
The gears have been one of my most noticeable mods. I dont think I'll ever be able to own another stock geared M6 ever. LOL.

I'm trying to figure out what gears I'm currently going to go with. Either 3.90s or 4.10s in my 10 bolt.
I had the same problem with my clutch sticking. First I swapped out the clutch master and put in a Ram adjustable MC and did the drill mod. That didn't fix my problem. Luckily, it was time for a new clutch so I put in an Ls7 and a new slave. The slave fixed it. No more sticking problems!! If I could go back I would have put a Tick master in, the Ram adjustable is simply the stock MC that has been modified with an adjustable rod on it. It works fine I guess and is cheaper but the Tick is where its at. Hope this helps a little.
Oh and also, I don't know what your mods are but if you have headers or are planning on getting headers I suggest you wrap your MC line with heat tape. I did not do this and it has take 1 week to turn my brake fluid black in the Clutch MC reservoir. It will but much easier to wrap it before you put it on the car than otherwise.
So how do you like the 4.10s? Is your car your DD? Mine is my DD so thats why I am kind of up in the air about getting 3.90s or 4.10s, plus I want to road race my car and that is definitely not the gear of choice for that.... but since its not a dedicated RR car I want a gear that will be fun on the street as well. Let me know what you think.

Well it is my DD because its my only car, but i live on campus and my job is walking distance away, the only times i really need to drive around are to get groceries or anything else around town, and when ever i just want to go drive. The only time i get on the freeway for an extended amount of time is when i come back home for holidays. my school is like 235 miles away, When im at home i do make some 30 min drives but those are only once in awhile.
The disadvantages i see are lower gas mileage but since i dont have to drive it everyday i dont mind paying to play (and seems to be a small amount lost anyways), and that it revs higher on freeway but 2 grand going 70 i dont think will be that bad.
Gas mileage around town will increase as you're able to use higher gears sooner, like 5th at 35mph and 6th at 45. Your interstate driving will be pretty much the same. The difference that people see when they put gears in comes from them having the gas in the floor all the time because its so much fun.
I can still crank out 28 to 30 on a roadtrip if I drive 70 or less (with cam/4.10 gears), but even 3.42 gears get crappy mileage if you drive 80mph.
