Default 35 Spline Axles

The Currie 9" that I am buying used has 35 spline axles in it with a Detroit Locker. I plan on changing the gear out from a 3.73 to a 4.11. What spline pinon do I need? Since I have 35 spline axles, soes that mean I need a 35 spline pinon??

no, you have 35 spline axles. Your pinion should be 28 spline.

35 spline pinion's are pro gears. They are soft and are for drag racing only. No street use.

if it has 35 spline axles now, you have to keep 35 spline axles or replace the center section. You can change just the gear it will come with a matched ring and pinion. Maybe overkill for the horsepower you have but really mothing wrong with 35 spline axles on the street ,ive been runnin them for about 12 years, im sure you'll find others have as well.

oh yea, you definetly want to run a street gear if it sees any street use, pro gear only for racing

the 35 spline axles dont bother me. I jsut dont want to find out that I need to repalce his 3.73 gear with a 35 spline ring and pinon (which are expensive compared to a 28 or 31 spline).

MAIN QUESTION: How will I know what spline pinon I need??
