Default posi

I broke 3 Eatons in 4 years..I now have a Auburn Pro unit which seems to be holding up well. I bracket race 3 times a month.

Default 10 BOLT POSI = AUBURN, "EATON"(a/k/a DETROIT TRUTRAC) & "TORSEN" ZEXEL BRANDS"

Just hurt my "TORSEN" type in my A4 Formula. 35k miles on it.
Since I started Drag Racing it at around 26k miles, I installed a Girdle Cover, & I've put about 80-90 passes on it w/ DR's.

Well it just started Clunking on slow speed turns after slight wheel hop in the Semi Final round last Firiday night's Challenge Series.
Noticed on the 1/4 turnoff.
This was only the 2nd time I encountered "hop" with my susp/rear setup.

New "Torsen" not readily available,(www.torsen.com for info on them) and after talking to other F-Body Fanatics, Builder's, Tuner's, Racer's in this area I feel you could pretty much throw a dart at a piece of paper with all the 10 bolt posi names on it, and it seems you'll hear "Pros & Cons" on all of them. Call Sadler Powertrain in Iowa. Call up and you'll find they'll sell you a new 3 series Detroit Trutrac & include shipping anywhere in the lower 48 for $379. (btw,Eaton bought Detroit a couple of years ago).

Here's an LSTech link to an informative Thread on this topic, notably the 10th post from CHUCKSS:
How Strong is a 10 Bolt?

Good Luck!

Me? I came across a new in box EATON (not from GM, & not a GovLok) but Eaton themselves for $180.
(part #19599-010)
I bought new Timken carrier bearings, races & stackable shimkit for another $60. So will reinstall, put "my Girdle" back on, and go this route. Eventually hope to come across a deal on a Dana S60 or Moser unit, but just not right now.

So far, so good on my T-2R although I have been told,
by people who should know, that it's not suited for drag
use (I have maybe 10 track passes on it, 2 on the ET
Streets, but nothing under a 1.9 60'). But it's about the
best for road behavior and well tougher than the stocker.

Still when you add in the labor you may be halfway to
the cost of bigger iron, that comes pre-set-up and
bolt it in yourself.
