This thread isn't really for gains but more on how changing the gears will affect your cruise speeds and what mph you'll be at when the trans shifts at WOT. I believe that there was a thread stating the gains going from 2.73s to 3.73s somewhere.
C5 A4's either have a 2.73 or 3.15 rear end gear
The M6 cars came with 3.42 gears. With an A4 C5 a stall is going to give you alot more than the gears will unless you go over 3.73's. Vettes are not known for traction off the line so a stall helps because it takes away alot of the rpm dropoff on shifts.
Just for those wanting to know! I've got a 4.30 gear in a moser 9" T-56. I think this setep sucks. Just too steep. I gotta get in that 9" anyway since my proposi took a dump on me. I didn't like 4.10 because here highway speed is 65, so you can get away with cruising at 70. Downshifting to 3rd at 70mph is too much but 4th isn't enough. Guess I'll be looking at the 3.90 gear.

Moneypit,
I was going to ask if there where any drawbacks to the 4.10's.
Is there any other M6 guys w/ 4.10's? I am use to stalled A4's.
I don't think that 1st gear is real quick w/ 3.42's.
hey all....i read through to make sure i wouldnt look like an ass posting this....if i slap 4.30s in a bone stock 10 bolt behind an m6 on a 98 ta with just bolt ons no cam, how hard will that be on everything.
tire size will either be
a. 315 m/t drag radial
or
b. stock 245 series
its a dd which get a moderate amount of track time and plenty of running cars from light to light but no road trips
