Thanks Bob, what is the procedure for ordering to receive this price? Will it still be going on Monday? Thanks.

I'm torn between the two rearends. I have buddys with 12 bolts running good, and ones with 9" running good. As of now, I have abs, I thought I was keeping it on the car. I just dont want the pedal change to feel, I love the way the car drove/handled. Would deleting the abs change how the pedal feels? As I understand, you can still run a posi in a nodular 9" center section.?. Is the standard (I forgot how much heavier you said the 9" was than the 12 bolt) weight addition with the aluminum center section, or the nodular one? The car it will be going in will have a tubular front end, but retain power everything, a/c, p/s, etc.. fully forged 347, with all the bells and whistles...m6, might get a th350 for some fun. It will be getting sprayed 100-200 shot, will have track duty, but not all the time. Will the 12 bolt still be fine? 650 hp on the bottle or close, clutch dumps...etc...

After all the rears I've sold and we've installed, I've come to the conclusion that automatic cars can live with the 12 bolt, but the stick cars need the nine inch.
Deleting the ABS (automatic braking system) will only change the pedal feel when you slam it down and you feel the pedal pulsate. Deleting ABS will prevent the pulsating which prevents brake lock-up. Without ABS, if you slam on the brakes hard, the wheels will lock up, just the way older cars do.
The nodular center section allows you to have the choice of any limited slip or spool that you wish to have. The aluminum center is 15 to 20 pounds lighter, but the Truetrac limited slip will not fit with the aluminum center, as the aluminum is thicker.
Hopefully this helps you out. Thanks! Bob

Hey Bob, just wondering if moser can put ARP wheel studs in, or if I should just buy them and install myself?

Good question, nobody's ever asked me that. I'll have to ask them. Moser does offer a very wide selection of wheels studs in many sizes and lengths, but they don't list the manufacturer. Bob

Smile Why the nine inch is stronger than the 12 bolt

The 9-inch has an internal rear-pinion support that also supports the gear end of the pinion to limit gear deflection under high torque loads. This seems to be the major reason why the 9 inch doesn't start whining after high rpm clutch dumps, when the 12 bolt will pick up noise.

The 9-inch locates its pinion gear lower on the ring gear to improve tooth contact, than the 12 bolt does.

The 9-inch has a 0.125-inch larger ring-gear diameter and internal pinion support than the 12 bolt does. This is not much of a difference, but it is worth noting. Bob

My car is strickly a daily driver... LOADED SLP SS M6 (ABS/TC)... I have fixed my rear once for about 1800... and it's getting noise and clunky again.

my car is only 310RWHP and 37rwhp on the GAS... I do alot of autocrossing a little drag racing 2-3 times a year.

the car is a keeper... and I would hate to loose my ABS/TC !! And I would hate to have a noisey no comprise Rear end?

I understand the 12 bolts are easy to install... no mods to drive shaft and torque arm? Just add backing plates? And I can get 4 channel.

The 9 in is more involved. Yet strongest you can get... but I loose ABS/TC Not good. I am a every day street car.

I understand the strange 12 bolt is different than the moser unit? Can you explain? thanks for your help.

about to spend some money

The Moser 9 Inch can be had with the 4 channel ABS/TCS for $100.00, so you are in luck. It is the cars that only have ABS, that cannot use the ABS. Bob

well that is good.. NEWS...

so the 9in ... but what extra will I need? different torque arm ? I have a Edelbrock now? and I am not sure about the driveshaft? Assuming all the factory brakes will hook up? plug and play with the 4 channel system?

I have a daily, daily, driver with a lil bit of (No2)

What gear and what unit? I would like to have some MUSIC not just roaring and clunking in my Rear.

Not saying your unit will...but I know some units (spool) will make more noise.

Also.. price with shipping to 32750 Fl ?

Your torque arm will fit. We check them for fitment prior to installation of the rear, just to make sure no griding is required. We've never found a torque arm of any make not to fit.

Stock driveshaft will fit if you use a Napa pn# 240-0447 U Joint, which is a 1310/1350 conversion U Joint.

Everything bolt back up, the Moser 9 inch rear for the F Body is designed to fit the F Body.

Moser 9 Inch with Truetrac for F Body, your choice of gear ratio
Torque arm mount
31 Spline Axles
ABS/TCS (4 channel) 3 channel not offered
$2,500.00 Shipped by UPS

Options:
Exciter Rings installed $100.00
Drain plug $35.00

You can reuse your stock exciter rings, you don't need to opt for new ones.
The drain plug is not needed, but is a nice addition. Thanks! Bob

it only took my housing/axle kit 5 days to get to me from the time I ordered mine, moser is really fast, if your getting one compleatly built I would only think a couple of days longer.

Moser ships their rears two days after the order is received. Rears from Strange are the ones that take a long time. Bob

Took about 3 1/2 weeks to get my Moser in AZ from another shop. Shipping was almost $400.

The shop you ordered your rear from must not of called in the order right away, unless something was backordered, which is not normally the case. Bob
