My heads, cam bolt ons C5 barely spins first gear with stock 3.42's as well. It hooks and goes. I can get them to cut loose if i want them too but i try and get it to hook
yeah, what ill usually do is give it what it wants down low and as the rpms climb ease off slowly to keep traction.. and keep the 1st to 2nd shift kinda easy

My car loses traction in 1st after like 3K-3500 RPM. Then, burns em as I shift 2nd and 3rd, and gets a nice scratch on 4th. The LS1 is just a top end power monster. Down low, I call mine kinda weak when compared to my 94 Z28 that I had. The 94 was much more of a tire roaster. Not that the T/A wont do it, its just the camaro had more power where it was necessary.

are you sure its an LS1?

exactly... i'd expect those narrow bridgestones to at least start spinning at the top of first.
i do have issues as the RPM's climb keeping traction sometimes. i have had traction until about 5k RPM's and then busted 'em loose at around 40mph or so. I've also had it go loose at 60+ when i dropped it down to pass i tend to like traction so i don't complain when it hooks.
yea, ok so i guess im good. of course the auto cars are gonna spin but i know that my suspension is really soft in the back to which might make it hook better too

its funny because the only suspension i have is boxed lca's and a non adjustable panhard bar with some lowering springs i guess me and you have the perfect combo to hook up

With your DIY boxing, good tires, 4.10s, worn stock clutch - you're really gonna have to try to burn 'em. My guess is, that clutch is slipping a good bit when you hammer it. Get a new clutch and it will get easier, for sure, but you have a good hooking combo.
Melchoir is right, higher gears means fewer tire RPMs per engine RPMs and harder to spin, easier to hook. Take this one to the bank.
they came boxed on the car and my clutch is a brand new ls7 with 800 miles and i cant break them loose and if i do its a tiny bit and hooks everytime in 2nd

def should be able to..
mine with 3.42's will spin some decent 275's in first.. and then again shifting into 2nd. What RPMs are you punching it at? at low rpm mine will catch at first, and once the rpms get a little higher start to lose traction
I love your wheels.
Can I haz them?
BTW OP, if your not burnign the fuck outta them tires, something is wrong.

Lol, thanks man.. appreciate it..
edit: since everyones discussing suspension etc, only thing i've got is SFC's, LCA relocation brackets, a pro kit, and as far as tires runnin some firehawk 275's that could use some more tread, but still have a little left.

alright i can maybe diagnose the problem.....
How much air pressure do you have in the rears. that would be the first thing, but you should smoke them all through first
