I voted pride but its also a matter of money. I love the fact that I make power n/a but if I had money I wouldn't mine having a ProCharger or go TT.

I think to say "i chose to stay n/a" you need to at least have H/C. Guys with long tubes saying they chose to "stay n/a"... haven't really "stayed" anything, they simply haven't moded yet, lol.

What would be more interesting, is to hear people in the 500+rwhp range argue N/A vs FI.

I agree 100%...

I can understand a guy making BIG N/A power feeling pride and showing it off... But the guys making 400hp and less N/A...whats so special about that?...

The same thing about feeling pride over NA 500hp can apply to under NA 400hp. Maybe they did the installs themselves and tuned it up just right. That's something special and I'd be proud if I did it.

Of course I'd feel more pride if I did a TT or PC/SC/MC install and tune myself.

There should be a "I Just Bought a Crotch Rocket" Option.

I guess I'm one of these "haven't modded yet" guys but there is no question of whether I'm going n/a or not, it's only a matter of getting the funds to further mod. Just because I'm low on money doesn't mean my opinions on n/a vs f/i should be invalid.

Very true dude!

I used to be one of those that said N/A was the way for me but it simply wasn't enough after seeing others, with less money in their motors, spraying a sh*tload that would still run better than me! Just got tired of it! If I woulda planned to spray when I was doing my build, I woulda had it forged.

I am on the fence about this one......... The route im going to take is gonna be N/A. I would LOVE to go FI but I just cant afford to do it RIGHT! I would have enough to do it with a stock internal motor but not to build a motor and do FI. I am planning on doing like a 408 stroker hopefully..... I would love to have a big cube motor and twin turbo but my wallet wont let me.

If I knew how much I was gonna spend on my mods, I think I would've gone turbo. I've got 10k plus on mods, might've had another 75 hp/tq turboed for the same money.

I chose to go the blown route with my F-body simply because you can't make that kind of power N/A. Not even close!

I had higher numbers in your sig with STS at 7.5psi alone... nothing else done to the motor aside from 42lb injectors. I made 472/503 with stock motor and 7.5psi. spent roughly 3500 on the whole kit. NOW I've got:
a speedinc "boost" 370 with 9.2:1CR so far
melling's oil pump
double timing chain
317's
victor jr intake
intake elbows elbow
ported and polished 78mm TB
79# high impedence injectors
(2) walboro 255lph pumps with supporting lines
sold my semi built T56 and have a built th400 with 3200 stall
purchasing a 12 bolt with 2.73's here shortly
and to the money pit: KYTP front mount turbo kit with a TC78 and 3 core intercooler

I'm hoping with this set up to see over 700rwhp through a power robbing 3 speed at over 15psi. Boost should be almost instantaneous

I voted simplicity. I had my 408 built with the mindset of spraying eventually though. might be a bit for that unfortunatley. I would like to go FI, but is almost to late now because static compression on my motor is 11-1. No way is it worth the effort to go that direction if you know what I mean. Swapping the pistons out would be a must in my case if I wanted to run any kind of power on pump gas...

But hell I made 500whp on a semi-budget 408 setup, and handed a Honda 600RR it's ass from a 60 roll. To have a 3400lb car put a big hurting on a couple hundred pound crotch rocket is good enough. That in itself is what makes everything worth-while, beating something that tries racing you that has no idea and you take your time showing how slow it is. The guy on the bike was pissed, guess he never lost to a car before My setup sounds like I might have a 228ish cam, but doesn't sound like the amount of power that is there. But it sounds like there is something though, never going to be able to hide it completely.

I am doing it so I don't have to wear an SFI jacket at the dragstrip. If I had another one and alot more money, I would supercharge it. But its more fun when people look under your hood and don't know how you can run so fast.
I was never a fan of Nitrous Oxide. I want the power to be there all the time.

lol my favorite power adder combo is weight reduction and nitrous. thats a deadly combo apparently. a 500 rwhp a4 camaro down to 3150lbs + dead hooking is hard to beat. did i mention i LOVE outrunning h/c cars ?

simply put, people that are afraid of nitrous have heard to many horror stories. i guarantee that 90% of these stories are due to a faulty installation. i have seen some crazy shit around here people have done to their kits. speaker wired solenoids, pump gas+stock iridium plugs, yada yada WTF are some people thinking ??????????????????
