I'd suggest making a list of stuff you know will be saleable and see if there would be any takers on here for the parts. It sucks about the car but like everyone said, the important thing is that your alright. Have you been wanting anything else like a vette?
It is black leather no seat wear either so if i hear something soon i will let you know

Glad to see your alright, it always sucks to hear this kinda stuff on here. Its probably totaled but I think you have the right idea. Id buy it back, sell the driveline, interior and panels on the back that are still good doors, hatch, tail panel etc. Then take whats left to a junk yard and jump into a C5 or something.

ya that would be my guess too and the driveline alone is worth more than that plus the interior is still good as well.

if it pushed that drivers frame rail back or swayed it it's totaled. I've been around rebuilders and body work my whole life. I've seen cars with a dented corner of the hood, headlight and maybe a fender get totaled out. Low mileage Grand prixs. it's really sad. Hate to see a nice NBM SS get wrecked

it was the left rear and they were cheap sumotsus or something like that.

what sucks is that we have a camaro firebird salvage here so i am sure he will offer a pretty penny for the car to drive up my buy back price.

ok smart ass but it's not always true. But usually. Face it these cars are becoming cheap and they are easy to total now. i've seen frame damaged cars with clean titles as well. Along with the ones that were barely hit that were totaled. From all the comments people were making about it might be, it might not be i was simply putting my opinion in that i thought it was likely totaled. Just going from past experience and what i've seen. The sarcasm was a little uncalled for. If you don't like my opinion, keep in mind that wasn't towards you, it was towards the O/P and your response wasn't necessary. You only gained one post count since that's all your post was good for~Cole~

O/P keep us updated on what the insurance company does. I may know some people interested in parts if you buy it back

Yeah dude, I work at a body shop. Frame damage doesn't really mean anything anymore. Most places nowadays have the tools readily available to fix frame damage.

i saw a blazer once('97 when it was about 2 years old then) that was SMOKED in the front drivers side. i mean toasted. replaced the whole frame and fixed the body damage and still had a clean title. With todays racks and electronics for getting stuff square they can fix alot. But it's hit or miss wether a company wants to do it or not. Sometimes people push for it to be totalled cause they don't want it after a big wreck. Personally that SS would be fixed if it was mine. If the bags aren't blown then i'd take my chances on a frame fix and fix it up instead of send it to the scrap yard. i bought my Vette wrecked. No frame damage or bags blown but it's got a clean title.~Cole~

I would love for them to fix it because like i stated in my topic this is the car that i have always wanted that i really could obtain. I just hear nightmares about cars that have had frame damage and never being the same. Plus they almost totaled it a few months ago for someone breaking into the car. They dented the rear quarter badly broke the front winshield and the t top and some other damage. Some of you may remember the post. They put 4600 dollars in damage on that occasion.
