Like the title says it wont idle where it used to (1k) anymore. I start it up and it idles right around 1200. If Im driving easy just cruising at say 4th gear where it usually was 1600 its now at 2000 and if I put the clutch in it wont slow down. And if I let off the gas completely while driving it will just slow to 2k and not slow from there again. When Im at a stop light it will take forever to slow down to 1200 and will never get there unless its a long light.
I did just recently delete the AIR and EGR systems I wouldnt think this would do it but Im pretty new to these cars so I have no idea. Also Ive been hearing a wierd noise from the rear area at completely random times so I cant really get it to do it and it does it when I am not expecting it at all. There has been no power loss.
Info on the car. Does have FAST intake, GM Hot Cam, LTs with ORY, 12 bolt rear with 4.11 gears. Car has 29,500 miles on it, Ive put 1k on it since I had it(early April) previous owner put a hair under 3k on it in 3 years.

Is it possible that in doing the !AIR and !EGR, you might not have fully plugged up one of the hoses? Maybe an unplugged or leaking vacuum line is not fully sealed/ blocked off? I personally have not done them mods, so hopefully somebody else will chime in soon.
Hope you get it fixed

No I wouldnt think its possible, but it may be, I checked that and changed the gaskets on the headers which Im pretty sure that wouldnt cause the problem since I was running a very short time without them plugged at all. Im pretty sure the EGR is sealed properly also.

i just ditched all that junk, my car stock car had a cam in it afterwards
but seriously, I did not seal the intake manifold block off well enough, so it idled rough and sparatic. I just bought a plug off ebay and it fixed it.

Is the hole in the top of the intake plugged in? PCV valve plugged in all the way?
Im pretty sure it is. My dad made me something for it. Its just a tapered circular piece of stainless steal with a piece right in the middle that holds it down and is attached into the screw hole. Its hard to explain I may take a pic of it. It doesnt go down into the intake though like the pipe did fro the EGR. I just figured once the air is full in that little area it shouldnt leak down into the intake path. I also kept the o ring in there. Is that something I should maybe just get rid of? But then will it seal properly? After this was installed started the car and sprayed WD40 around the EGR block off we made and no bubbles.
Whats the PCV valve? Wheres it at?

My fault I didnt read all of his post. Yes fast intes did not come with egr ports unless it was drilled out. Take a pic of the intake for me will ya?
Here they are. Looks like the EGR to me and I dont think it is drilled out. The first one is just showing what I have for the block off plate.
When I pulled the plate off it looked like that O Ring was bent and not in there right. I straitened that out and it seemed to be better as far as the idle. Drove it for a while seemed ok to me except when I tried WOT. After that the idle sped up again. Got home checked it and sure enough o ring was bent up again.
Would you think just replaceing that O ring may do something or should I do this block off plate differently? I see some just cut the old pipe and weld the block off plate on the top of that? Any suggestions to fix this would be great.

You can try ditching the O-ring and using some RTV silicone sealant around the OUTSIDE of the plug you are using to plug the EGR. Do not use the silicone where it can get into your intake, us it on top to ensure a good seal. Here is a picture of my EGR tube, it isn't deleted but didn't seal air tight the way it was, i used some silicione around the outside of it, and all is still well one and a half years later.
Beat me to it, it was obviously a vac leak. Glad you found it, I haven't done this mod since I have a 01 but try replacing the O ring first would be the fastest/easiest. The best would be applicable block off plate though.
hate to bother yall with my problems, but im havin an issue with idling aswell, i did the EGR AIR delete as well, along with the CATS and rear O2 sensors, my car wount idle at ALL.
i also did the MS3 cam, ported the heads and went with the weiand ls6 aluminum intake
im thinkin it wount idle because im still on a stock tune, but not sure, regardless, it should still idlea some what
