Most of the problems with the driver side are caused by people who generally roll both windows down and up at the same time. Once the passenger kit is installed this is generally fixed. Some people still have trouble after this and the driverside kit will remedy it.

im going to get the auto trix kit for my 98 trans am, should i do the thermistor thing also in the write up? both my windows are messing up, the kit will only help the pass side right or does power run through it to the drivers side?

my problems:
both sides roll down very slow, up slow and usually stop. i can turn off and on car and it will move a little bit. if i help it up it will go. what do you think?

You may need to replace your window motors. They sound like they might be too far gone.

We do not recommend removing the thermal bypass for safety reasons.

If you install the passenger kit it will most likely wake up the passenger motor but your driver side is deffinetly going to need replacing.

As I understand it the power has to travel through a lot more wire to reach the passenger side motor compared to the driver's side motor, this mod sends power directly from the battery to the motor.

Thats a good sumarization. I would recommend reading the earlier posts in the thread, I had to explain what is going on in quite a bit of detail for some other people.

Yea I'm having the problem with my driver side window only. It won't go down at all, yet my passenger side still works fine. If there's a write up on what I should do, can someone post it for me? Or if not, what exactly should I replace, and where is the best place to purchase this stuff. Thanks for the help.

Can you explain why the passenger side is $29 but the driver's side is $130? Honestly, just trying to understand why it's more expensive for the driver's side.

The passenger kit for $29 is just the wiring kit to route power directly from the battery to the window motor instead of power coming thru the driver side switch.

The Express down kits include an express down module so they cost more.

You can install the passenger side wiring kit on the driver side but you would lose express down so the Driver Side Express down kit included Our specially designed express down module. You can read more about that in the earlier posts in this thread.

OK, so I can just use the passenger kit for the driver's side, but I'll have to hold the button for a wopping 3-4 seconds to get the window to go all the way down.... No big deal to me.
