the gas cap seal itself may be starting to wear. if the light comes back on i would replace the cap.

I've had that same problem right after I put on a locking gas cap. Changed back to the regular one and it went away. If it comes on again, I'd just get another gas cap, just not the locking ones. Oh and Arctic White F-bodies FTW!!
