Default No crank/start after fuel pump install.

this is on a 3.8 '01 camaro.

a mechanic put the pump in for me.

Before the process the car was doing same thing, no fuel at rail, cranks , no start.

After changing the fuel pump, theres fuel at the rail with perfect pressure, (60)

But now the car doesn't even crank anymore, mechanic himself admits car was cranking in morning but not starting/engine turning over.

PLeASE TELL ME WHAT THE FOCCCCKKK went wrong.

Hmm it did sound like the teeth on the starter are destroyed.
The shop guys were saying that the car was making noise of cranking but not turn over, cuz no fuel.

How 'd the starter get fried just after putting the pump on.

Is there a way for it to get ruined or the mechanics cranked it too many times n broke it?

Thanks

btw I really Like your cage. Is your motor in the car?

I'd look for a new shop. From what you're saying, it sounds like they are taking you for a ride. Not having fuel will not keep the engine from turning over.

?? Huh
so what your saying is, if a car doesn't have gas it should still start?

No disrespect but just trying to comprehend your post.

The way I read this, the starter was turning, the engine wasn't, so they replaced the fuel pump. Or am I missing something?

Ohh.
The fuel pump was replaced because the car stalled on the road.
Fuel pump relay, fuses checked out good. Fuel filter is new.
So only reason there was no fuel rail was dead fuel pump n it was Not priming/humming.

The shop put a new pump in, there's fuel at rail now.
They tested it with fuel pressure gauge in front of me.

So at this point, everything is togather but doesn't sound like it wants to crank.
Spark is confirmed to be good.

Thanks for info so far guys. Keep it coming.
I'm confused on what's causing this.

Talking she Lives

Reconnected the starter and she fired right up!

It feels great to hear her fire up again.
