Heck maybe some want to just try something new. Thats what makes hot rodding cool. If we all did the same thing, used the same parts, what fun would that be?

I like the Intake... Was going with a killer mock up intake for my future setup next year, however this intake got my attention...
Has anyone measured the Valley cover to the bottom side of the cowl for an f-body? I'm sure it's only 8" or so... I could drop the motor with a little tweaking of the motor mounts, done it before, but still might not fit...
Exact Same Design, but for a Vortech Head Design...
PRO-FLO XT EFI SYSTEMS FOR CHEVYS AN EXCITING NEW ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
The Intake utilizes a 90mm TB, which I'm sure will also be for the LSx motors...
Something everyone should take note of... Quote on the Vortech Style Head Manifold from Edelbrock. "The eight equal-length runners and large plenum make this intake ideal for maximum power and drivability in the 1500 to 6500 rpm range."
The RPM Range of 1500 to 6500... Now yes the LSx style intake might differ slightly, but the pic looks almost identical and I'm sure mass production of these intakes, the similar castings between the older V8 and the new LSx motor would be pretty close...
So this intake might not be for the N/A HIGH REVING race motors, but more of an upgraded replacement of the LS6, Fast 78/90mm non-ported Intakes...
I'm patiently waiting for somebody to mass produce some sheet metal intakes in china....
That was done on some import intake manifolds and air leaked through the pores in the metal! I think they have since fixed it but just something to watch out for.
Well guess I should have no problems running this in my truck then. Plus I have a 2' cowl hood too.
So I have a GEN 3 5.3 with LS6 heads and it currently has a LS1 intake. The next mods will be valvetrain and cam. What size cam would be ideal for this? I have no plans of running above 6000 rpm. The then this will follow over into what size converter to running my 4l60?
Thoughts?

Look into a LS6 or wait for the new "Street Warrior". You will go slower. This thing will lose midrange torque compared to a LS1/LS6 even a FAST intake.

It all depends on the valve timing event that are inherent in the cam selected for the intake, IE have a cam specd for it! A standard cam like a torquer or MS series cam would probably loose power going to this intake

So you mean we're supposed to build an engine, not just throw parts together?
So you mean we're supposed to build an engine, not just throw parts together?
ya pretty much!
I got used to saying this over and over and over again when people would post up about their Vic Jr being crap with their 224 114lsa cam.
Do some more research 1st! you will see that if you run that intake with the elbow with hurt the performance and its best if you ad a 2000cfb TB on top of it and you will gain a good 20-30whp. I was going to do the vic with elbow until i saw how much the elbow was choking down the motors
I had a nice long talk with the owner of the speed shop I use, He feels with my large cam and 3600 RPM stall I should be fine. I have not made up my mind yet
and how did we come up with the 350-400 dollar price range/?????/
Theres no more monopoly thats how they came up with the price. FAST intakes are insanely priced. Even this intake is high priced for edelbrock. But still half of what the competition wants...whats that tell ya.... FAST=overpriced garbage.
Do they offer this for the L92 heads?
