This is old news to me personally...but I believe it was Alchemist that bought those truck coils from me...Is Doylestown PA where you're from? I will have some more sets here shortly...If anyone is interested....

Yes, that's me. I didn't realize you were on tech. We could have gone through here and saved the ebay fees.
Either way, it was a good deal and I'm happy to get them. Even if they don't make a difference, they will be newer than what I have currently.
True ebay sucks with the fees...anyways FYI for everyone, these coil packs do get hot with the amount of energy they are putting out and tend to crack the factory silicone/gel type stuff around the heat sink...I would put some clear RTV silicone on top of the factory silicone/gel to help with this...MSD coils are very overrated IMO and all of the factory coil packs put out more than enough juice...Especially the D585 coil packs....

I maybe intrested.. The coils that you are selling, are they indeed the 6.0 truck ones with the heat sink on them?
If they come complete (bracket, coils and wiring) then i will take some when you get your hands on more

i used the ls7 coils/brackets/ and harness. my f body msd wires fit perfect. i also relocated the evap but i relocated down by fuse box. the engine looks a lot cleaner without the evap sitting on the intake.

Just a quick update. I haven't driven the car yet, but did start it up and it idled well, I'd say better than before just comparing random misfires from have a cam idle at 800rpm. So that's a good thing.
FYI, you don't need new plug wires if you have MSD wires. Mine fit perfectly. Actually having the coil sitting higher on the valve covers makes it easier to plug the wires in, especially #6 and #8.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to take a drive today and can give more feedback on drivability.
The LS1 coil brackets will not mount the truck coils.
The LS1 coil wiring harnesses will NOT work as the plugs and pin-outs on the coil end is different. The coil harness to engine harness plug is the same and the new harness will plug in directly.
The truck coil brackets are 10457736, 2 needed.
The LS2 wiring harnesses are 12601824, 2 needed.
The coils are 10457730 (AC D585), 8 needed.
GM/Chevy trucks had several different coils and brackets so be careful. These coils are the ones with the heat sink on the backside. Brackets from other coils will not fit.
On the the LS1 F-body cars, the A.I.R. piping will be in the way. On the passenger side, the fuel line and solonoid will be in the way. A little fanageling will be needed to get it in.
I had a set of LS7 spark plug wires laying around and they fit & look nicely.
those brackets just bolt in? hmm im really considering this as my next upgrade. is it pretty much a direct swap after you get the brackets, coils, and harness? if you can get anymore coil packs petrazewsky, pm me, i am also interested. Alchemist needs a dyno now!!

Since the last time I dyno'd (summer of 2002), I've done custom programming, qtp long tubes, ported FAST 90/90, Fast Toys 90mm lid/maf combo, among other things.... so unless I swap back to stock coils, then back to these, it's not going to be very accurate. But we'll see what happens.
This is NOT a quick bolt-in job. Look at post # 72 for what you'll need to do.

It all depends on your current setup. I have aftermarket fuel rails, plus no air or egr to mess with, so yes, for me, with the setup that I got from Petraszewsky, it was a simple bolt on process. I unbolted the ls1 coil pack rails, then bolted on the rails with the truck coil packs, plugged in the harness, and started her up. Oh, and I pulled each valve cover and gave them a quick cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. With that, it took me 45 minutes start to finish, and that was with watching my 2.5 y/o son in the garage at the same time.
ACCEL also makes a truck style coil but they are expensive...Less expensive than MSD though...I'm trying to get a consitent hookup for the coil packs..Otherwise I've just been running back and forth to the salvage yard that's a hour away from here....
Now that is interesting. It certainly looks like a stock GM coil that's been nicely painted.
Is it better than the GM coil?
OK, somebody needs to get these coils and do a back-to-back dyno run against stock GM truck coils.

Well, I took the car to work yesterday, but I forgot to clear my hptuners data logger, so no actual data to quantify the changes. It wouldn't have been a good test either since I got stuck behind traffic both coming and going to work on back roads, so nothing more than half throttle and 4000rpm shift points.
I can say that the car did feel more responsive and it idled better as well.
So let me get this straight... This is a direct bolt on as long as you get the coils, brackets, and harness.. And only a slight mod to the driver side to get coil 5 in according to paul bell... correct???

Im trying to plan a time with my tuner right now to do a back to back test with my stock coils and a set of truck coils i picked up. Hopefully i'll be able to confirm these good results. Should be done sometime in the next couple weeks so stay tuned.

That would be cool. Would you mind monitoring your gas mileage pre and post swap? That would be info worth noting as well.
