Bauer TB picks up 11 RWHP on the dyno(Stock car)...
Yep, that's right...
Dyno'd my g-friend's car this weekend and decided to swap my TB on there for shits and giggles. Before #'s were 301 rwhp(Stock A4), and 312 rwhp with just the swap of a TB! This car has no other mods. No lid, no nothing. With more mods, the car would have definately picked up more with the additional air flow.
Bret does awesome work.....

I won't say this is going to happen on every single car, because results very but Bret's porting work is top notch and you'll see when you look at his TB's that he goes the extra mile to get the most out of it.

I was thinking a ported TB should be worth more than 6 hp. I just bored mine out with my lathe and was shocked at how big that bump is in front of the butterfly. Porting by hand it isn't as obvious how much metal you are removing, plus you may not remove as much since you can't tell what you are doing as easy. Removing half the shaft should gain quite a bit as well.

Yeah Bret does very good work. I got my throttle body a couple of months ago, when i put it on and took it out it was not idleing right and there was definately a problem . I emailed Bret and with no questions asked he told me to send it back and he would take care of it. Sure enough he welded up the idle hole and sent it back to me, it is working perfectly now and definately there is better throttle response . Thanks for all your help Bret.

hmm.. this sounds like a nice mod. is there any tuning issues or anything with a stock car or can i just bolt it on and ill be good to go? if thats the case i mgiht have to pick one up

Just bolt it right up. No tuning required. Like I said in my post, I swapped this TB ON the dyno, right on the spot. The very next pull after the swap the car made 11 more rwhp. No tuning, and this car doesn't even have a lid on it! With more mods, the car would have probably picked up more power...

Jason, depending on the amount of work your current TB has, i'd say 5-8 rwhp if you did a decent job. However if it's just a clean up, it probably didn't do much and you should see an easy 8-10+ depending. It's really hard to say without seeing the TB, and/or knowing dyno results of what your home porting did your for.
However I can guarantee Bret's are far more worked through than even the most home ported TB, so I think it's safe to say you'll gain power no matter what.

how much can a cammed car expect to gain from this?
It's hard to tell. Cams help the upper RPM band of the motor just like a TB does so it's going to help it bring more air into the motor.
Good to see a back to back on the dyno with this. I've just done all the work at the drag strip. I've seen guys do the same thing at the track and bolt on 2mph, which makes sense when you see it's a 11rwhp gain.
As for Home Ported vs A Bauer TB. Basically this started out as a home porting and has been progressively ironed out over time. There are so many little things that I look at in the porting and the work now that it does take a good amount of time to do and unfortuneately would take me even longer to teach someone how to do.
We strive to make high quality parts that work. Period. No fluff, no B.S., no , just parts that perform.
I'm working on some TB stuff for the new FAST intakes, to bring this all up a notch. Maybe some cylinder heads and camshafts (which I already have) in the future too, but you never know.
Josh thanks for the post. You must be tring to get a free one out of me. ;-) Seriously guys, Josh is just a customer like any of the guys on here, the only one who's gotten a freebie is my father because his car is the R&D C5.
