Default Just Installed BBK Intake

I just bought a BBK intake from "Studderin", transation went perfect. Overall the intake is a good design, my opinion. It is definitely heaver than the LS1. Its a little tight back by the oil pressure sending unit, but so was the LS!.

I havent driven it much to tell if it made a difference or not, but so far seems faster.

If anyone is looking at getting one, do it just for the fact that it cleans up the engine bay and it makes it 10x easier to remove the intake if you have to for any reason. I also removed the EGR and Air stuff, see the pics. I am going to relocate the coils and polish the valve covers to match the intake, should look good.

If anyone is interested in a LS1 Intake, let me know, its for sale.

Yea one of the main reasons why I chose not to go w/ the LS6 was the bling factor. Looks good! I have a 96mm typhoon intake waiting to go on but the whole winter thing is unmotivating

Thanks for the compliments guys. I went with the intake because of the price and also the fact that it makes more power than the LS6, not much but more. I would have liked the fast intake but couldnt justify the price. I am going to do headers over the winter and then bring it to get a cam in the spring, should still be over 400 rwhp. I am going with the streetsweeper cam.

Yeah me too, they have been using aluminum for
Many years now without any problems. Can't wait to see dyno numbers with the cam and headers

Looks great, by the way. Just a quick question for anyone. Is there much difference performance wise between the BBK & the Fast?

looks good. if i didn't already have an ls6 intake, i'd go for one, but i can't justify the cost for the gains. if my car came with an ls1 intake, i'd be all over it.

You can find it for 400.00 from a few different vendors...Pretty much the same price as the weiand.

The intake did not sit flat on the heads, I just took a hammer to the coolant lines so they would sit flat on the valley cover. Once you tight the intake down, it should sit flat on the heads.
