I had that cam in my nova....its rowdy but with a good tune it is driveable. Would i put it in my camaro i drive everyday...probably not. Its a darn good cam all around but like others have said how much can you stand.....?

The BEST street cam, hands down, is either the TR224 OR the old MTI "hammer" cam (222/222 114+4).
Not only are both of these cams easy on the valvetrain but;
They make great power under the curve
Don't need to be run out to 6800-7k RPMs to make power/carry it
Are 100% DD friendly
Easy to tune
etc. etc.
Just remember, K.I.S.S.

Do you have a pair of SHITTY "budget" heads? "Toss a FAST intake on, IT WILL MAKE IT ALL BETTER!"
Do you have a terrible head/cam setup? "Just throw a FAST intake in the mix, IT WILL FIX EVERYTHING!"
TR 224 has a 50 variance rate on intake, XE-R is 49 and XE 53.
Hardly what I would call non agressive and "easy" on valvetrain
The 222/222 I forgot, but either XE (high lift) or XE-R
Hammer is XE high lift lobes. As far as the TR224 goes, its a whole lot easier on the valve train than the "latest and greatest" XFI/LSL/LSK lobes that everyone seems to be infatuated with. Not only that but being that its in between the XE-R and XE lobes, I'd say that's pretty "non aggressive", wouldn't you?
I mean, a simple set of 918's or PAC 1518's and you won't need to worry about springs for 40-50k miles.

No, les agressive than LSK at .200 lift but not less agressive than LSK,XFI, (the same at .006>.050), (XE-R is the harshest).
Both lobes TR, XFI have a variance rate of 50 intake and 51 Exhaust. TR just has less lift and profile, the intensity is similar.
You have to look at various lifts, .006,.050,.200,.400 (if available)
It is not infatuation, it is called progress. Even TR uses LSK,XE-R lobes.
Now mind you, back in the days, TR lobes actualy came on the market before XE-R. They are great lobes, but things evolve. All we can do is adapt and make more power.
As for the springs, they should all be tested, once a year or every 15K miles for pressures. If within tolerances, reuse, if below change.
you cannot just assume, this one is good for xxx miles and that one is yyy miles.
Modding internally means higher maintenance, it is like changing oil, has to be done for longer, reliable performance.

233/239 is awsome. I have it, but it if your worried about its choppyness go with a 114 lsa, all though if you were truly badass youd do 112 LSA. As ive stated in here before, i went 11.53, hitting the limiter between 2-3 shift AND letting off (was actually racing in first round of a bracket race) so it woulda prolly gone a 11.45, this is all with 100% stock intake, throttle body, pulley and 241 heads. Id say that cam got the job done.

I have a 232/236 on a 112 in my h/c/i M6 100% street car with 4:11s and I'm very glad I didn't go any smaller. Driveability is perfectly fine, now I would never drive cross country in my car but thats because of the miles I would be putting on it. If I was really picky about street manners, while cruising around town I could just go from a stop in 2nd and skip to 4th and then to 5th if necessary... or 1st to 3rd. I drive my car alot during the summer BUT it is definetly not a daily driver
what size cam sould i get to drive daily but run a 10.9-11.0 on a 150-175 hit ,yank 3500 ,sticky tires ,and a decent tune ! or will that not happen? that is all i want i dont really care about the size of the cam as long as it works .

you can go faster than that with a 233/239 on a 150 hit. After my motor goes back together im lookin at 10.9-11.0 cam only no spray (Mods in sig)... Ill even provide you with a nice clip to show you what my baby sounds like on a 112 LSA.
Also by Daily Driver do you actually drive it like 40 miles a day? Mine wasnt the greatest DD however, i did DD it for a long time.

yeah like it is my only way of going right now! i drive it everywhere to be honest . that is kinda why i am wanting to sray the car instead of all motor i can run a smaller stall cam and a more streetable tune.and i can still put down a low 11 sec pass street trim . i think people get carried away when they say there car is a daily driver . they have a to town and back hot rod not a get in a drive it on vacation. if my car stock run's a 13.3 n20 is good for about 1.00 a stall .5 or more sticky tires .3-.5 cam and tune .75-1.00 that would be about a high 10.80 pass . nit that i am trying to say each will give me this much on my car but should have me close . am i right or am i right !!!!!!!! what about the tr224 cam is it a good all around cam.

This is what im trying to get out of my car through a m6.Looking for high 10s on the spray. I am currently running a 244/242 on a 112w/ 150 shot and looking to go smaller I need more power under the curve to move the heavy gto. I was thinking about the FTI street sweeper HT 228/232 111lsa.
