I dont think its a bearing either, its not a loud enough "knock" I dont think. It almost sounds like a stuck lifter to me but you said you replaced that stuff.

Jack it up and get under it on jackstands then have someone start it up and see if you can pin point it that way. Could be something in the bellhousing touching the clutch somewhere.

Does the noise change when the clutch is in or out?

you could try pin pointing where it's coming from with a long screwdriver or a few long 3/8 or 1/2 extensions or if you have a harbor freight tool store nearby they have a mechanics stethoscope for less than $10, always good to have one around.
good luck.

How low is the oil pressure hot? I suppose if it was very low the engine could be noisy but it would have to extremely low. I think min oil pressure at idle is 6 psi and 24psi at 5k rpms. From here the noise sounds like something is hitting something constantly as it turns. Good Luck.

Honestly with the oil pressure that low i would have to say its time to pull it anyway. Then you should be able to find some sort of sign as to the source of the noise. I'm starting to think it may be EVERYTHING is noisy because the oil pressure is so low. Any signs of metal in the oil or on the magnet? how bout inside the oil filter? Sometimes its a real pisser to get to the bottom of something like this.

it has been a real pisser, and there is no sign of metal on the oil dipstick. I have yet to rip apart a oil filter but I did find a piece of a dowel broken on the oil drain plug. The pirce was perfectly round, and about 2 mm in diameter. I want to learn how to rebuild these motors anyway.

If you rev it to lets say 2500 and hold it there for a bit and let the oil pressure build does it get any quieter?

Noise is way to fast for a bearing. Sounds like something hitting the flywheel. I don't think valve noise would be that fast at idle either. As far a low oil pressure are you sure that the pickup tube o-ring is good? Also would recommend using mechanical oil pressure gauge to make sure it is really low. Have seen several members on here recently that had to replace sending units.

Well I replaced the pick up tube o ring, and lubed it up good, and know that it is in tact where it should be. I know about the oil sending unit, but with the tapping noise and the whirring, I have my doubts that the gauge is lying to me, but could check it I recon. I also thought maybe it was a bent rod.

If you made a longer video-audio starting cold and then warming the engine with some revs maybe we could get a better idea. It does not sound like any bearing or rod noise i've ever heard. It sounds like something hitting something constantly as it turns. Could be alot of things...how much ctankshaft end play does it have? If its ALOT the crank sensor whel on the crank might be hitting something inside...something like this would make the noise. Do you know how to check the end play?

I would try to find the source of that noise before you tear everything apart. It would suck if you got the motor back together and it was still there. The only think turning fast enough to make that frequency of noise would be the crank or anything connected to it or touching it.

Im going to get a hand trying to locate the source of the noise. Jack it up and listen under neath and see where the noise is most profound. We will see what I find.
