Default need advice/whats wrong with my setup

Ok I am seriously frustrated at this point. My 99 T/A is running 12.48 in the 1/4 with a 1.85 60ft at 111.69. With my mods I should be in the 11's.
Mods are: Ls6 intake, SLP lid, mid length headers, true dual exhaust with x-pipe, 1.7 Harland Sharps, TSP 233/239 on a 112 lsa, ported LS6 oil pump, double roller timing chain, titanium locks and retainers, dual springs good up to .650 lift, chrome moly push rods, 3200 rpm stall, 4.10 gears, rear end girdle, subframe connectors, Lca's, Lca relocation brackets, Panhard rod, torque arm, 275/40/17 Nitto 555's. Ford 30# injectors, Custom tune from PCM for less, Rev limiter 6900 rpm shit points were at 6450 but I was bouncing of the limiter 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd now there at 6000. a/c deleted. So this is where I need help what the hell is wrong!!!!!

If this is in the wrong place I'm sorry please move it to where it needs to be.
Thank-you.

The only thing that jumps out to me is the mail order tune. Get it on a dyno and get a real tune. The 60 ft time is kind of weak also, I think your stall should be around a 3800 instead of 3200 with that cam.

I can't see a Diablo doing what you need done. That setup needs a wideband, EFI Live or HP Tuners, a good tuner and a dyno.

Mid-length headers are probably holding some power back too.

did i miss a tire in there? if you are running street tires you may not be geting the kind of launch you need. the 60' would be my best guess but im sure theres something im missing here. i think the saying here goes "for every .1 off your 60', its .2 in the 1/4" so 2 tenths and theres youre 11. also, youre stall isnt the bgigest so that could effect it, but i doubt it. plenty of guys do it on a 3200 i believe. and like some one said, the tune may be kind of weak as well.

The car is down on power going by the trap speed! Even on a 1.8 60ft you should hit
11's, get the car dyno tuned imo...You should see a 116 trap or higher with that setup.

You might also have the tranny looked at. If you were commanding the car to shift at 6450 and it couldn't get it done by 6900, the tranny is probably slipping. Also, I would look into getting a let of LT headers instead of the midlength headers. There should be some power there. Also, like mentioned above, the short times should be a tenth or two better. That could be caused by the tranny if it is slipping, possibly. Either way, if you can that that tenth or more in the 60ft. it will net you more at the other end. Something to think about.

Agreed! LT's will net the op some nice gains. Setting shift points at 6000 to shift by 6900 does not seem quite right. Sounds to me like the tranny could be slipping aswell.

I would expect to see at least a 114 trap speed and agree with the others that your tranny must be slipping. A set of long tubes would net more power, but the mids are not killing that much ET/MPH.

What are your RPM's going through the traps?

Get the tranny checked out first.

Is there a cooler on it? If not, get one on there.

I think it bouncing off the limiter is whats causing the low trap and ET...not mid length headers lol. Get the tranns fixed up and a cooler on it if you dont already, and then run it and THEN we'll talk about swapping headers.

Good luck man.

I had the computer re tuned by Brian at pcm for the injectors and had him lower the shift points. using the diablo I'm stepping them up slowly to see where I start to bounce. Tranny shifts great other than occasionally when the converter acts like it wants to lock up early? Yes there is a tranny cooler on it.

I don't recall what they were its been a few weeks.

the only other thing that comes to mind is I can't get the tranny to stall up very high on launch with out it trying to push the front tires around 1800-2000 rpm (first auto drag car).

That's about as high as you can stall a 3200 convertor on the brakes. If you want to check the actual stall RPM you should hit the throttle at low speed with the tranny in third. The RPM's will jump to the stall speed and hang briefly until the car accelerates beyond that RPM.

I got to thinking at work last night when we did my cam swap we didn't have time to do the stall converter so I drove it around for about two weeks with the stock converter. It never bounced of the rev limiter shift points were 6450 red line 6900!! after the stall it started bouncing between 1-2 and 2-3 the worst between 1-2. maybe the stall is my problem!? its a lock up with anti-ballooning plates (was gonna spray it).

There are two things that will make your tranny hit the limiter, a stall and no tune afterward and a rear gear change to higher gears (ie 2.73 to 3.42) and no tranny tune adjusting the shift points. Either one can affect the way your tranny shifts.

did you check your fluid level? a friend's car started doing that and it was a hair low on fluid, once he added just a little it cleared up
