| Yet another cam choice thread for H/C C5 Z06. Opinions PLEASE!! Pred-Z, Pat G welcome So I've done some searching here and on the rest of the wonderful Information gravel road.LOL.. Im just looking for a 2010 opinion on a couple common cams for my combo this spring. My budget is allowing me this: My 03 Z06 (346ci) is getting TEA stage 2 heads milled to 59cc( My Z06 heads). A ported or non ported FAST 92/90 combo and the usual bolt ons, UP etc.. Looking at around 11.25 SCR with GM MLS gaskets.Dont wanna flycut, so please don't say pick your cam and flycut as needed. lol... I also have a RPM 4.10 rear. So looking at popular cams with as good tq as one can have with a 346ci.. Since I dont want a donkey dick cam but a cam which contain valve events which work best for an overall tq and hp balance for stock cubes, I was dead set on a Futral F13 (230/232 .595/.585 112+2) or F14 (232/234 .598/.598 113 +4), but am now looking at the FTI StreetSweeper HT(228/232 .612/.600 111+2). I think either of these cams would give me a nice lopey chop and be street friendly with a good tune, no surge, air cond idle issues..etc.. and should work with the 59cc heads from what I have read. (Still will clay of course).Question am I looking at the best of the best for medium cams? Maybe Pred- Z could chime in with and PM me with a recommendation. Maybe El Torro?
My Z06 is not a daily driver. Driven around twice a week, but looking for a cam that will give me the strongest midrange torque with the best top end as well. I know the old game where you gotta rob from Peter to pay Paul, but there has to be a perfect magic balance where east meets west so to speak... but I know I probably should be in between 228- 236, with lobe selection/lift and lobe sep.& ICL, another issue all together. Want a drag race kinda grind with a broad powerband which pulls good up top, beyond 1/4 mile, (hoping for 460 rwhp with a good honest tune), and almost keeping up with my friends stock C6 Z06. I know its not easy without FI... also not too big where it gets on your nerves driving for a couple hours either.

| All those cam choices you mentioned would be good. Since you're more mid-range/top-end oriented, you could stay at or above 230 on the intake and widen the LSA to 113. Maybe a 230/234 .600/.602 113LSA +4 advance with Endurance lobes from Engine Power Systems. You could run a quality beehive spring like a PAC 1518 if you had a choice with your TEA heads. The beehives will rev higher and be quieter with those EPS lobes.

| Sounds like you want a lot for a wooden nickel, but in reality you can get it with a custom cam selected based on the totality of you setup. Pat G is definately the guy to ask. Looks like you got a FREEBIE out of too !!! Way to go Pat, that was nice of you.

| If the EPS lobes were around when I got my cam they would have gotten strong consideration.....

| 228/232 112 and you need to watch your ptv. Intake valve will be alittle tight, depending on what icl you choose.

| I ran a 232/238 600/600 109 LSA on 59cc chambers and no fly cutting. I would recommend that cam for a good mid range cam if ground to a 112 to 113 LSA. You will still get a nice choppy sound and feel to it.
Right now I am running an Ed Curtis cam and making on 91 octane 412/356 through an A4.
