i think it would have to be the flowmaster merge, a lot of guys are running it on this forum. i have seen them use it on custom setups.

havent seen anybody run the magnaflow y pipe yet.

i was in your boat a couple of months ago. but i decided to get LT's with pacesetter Y pipe, but if i was to do a custom setup it would be the flowmaster merge

i really like the howe merge y.
they have a 3" inlet and 5" outlet version that cones out real nice.
i have mine cut back a tad and it works great with my 4" bullet.
they are a few dollars more than a flowmaster, but not by much.

i use the 3"x5" its only 5" the last inch or so to put pipe into. its been cut, and a 4" bullet muffler fits nicely on it.

Looks like a nice piece. Is it stainless?

It does look nice but stull is not as smooth a transition as the flowmaster.

Basicly, the Flowmaster is as close to a dual as it gets without 2 seperate pipes after the merge because it has both streams of exhaust running parrallel to each other.

they are not stainless, but have a thick spray of some high temp aluminum on them.

howe also has some sweet x pipes.

i dont know how much i agree or disagree with that becuase i am not all that up on exhaust flow characteristics.

i will say i swapped the flowmaster merge for a howe several years back before there was a dyno around.
the howe setup sounds COMPLETELY different than the flowmaster one did on the car.
i get all kinds of compliments on how unique the car sounds.
just going on what i think.... the how has a step in the outlet cone much like a merge collector on a header.... they are worth a few hp.
again, this is all redneck guessing.

wish i had dyno results. maybe someone will be bored, or willing enough to test them out.
