Default L76/L92 truck intake or LSXrt in a F or Y Body?

This is more of a curiousity question than anything, but any chance that a L76/L92 truck intake or Fast LSxRT will fit under the stock hood of a '98-'02 Fbody? '97-'04 Ybody?

If it is made for a L92 it will not work on a LS1, the L92 has rectangle ports not cathedral.

Yup, L92 intake is a totally different port design! No one knows on the LSXRT yet, someone will try it no doubt.

I think he's just asking if it'll clear the hood, Not what engine it'll fit on. My guess is he's pretty aware it won't fit on an LS1 head. I haven't read yet of anyone trying that intake in an F body. I know their was a lot of talk about it before everyone could get the L76 intake (back before LS3 was available) My guess is it won't fit under the cowl without some trimming/hacking. I would deffinately like to see someone try a ported one on a set of LS3/L92 heads.

Me too. From a thread I saw some where. It looked like the truck manifold made more power on a built engine than a LS3 manifold did. I don't know if that's always the case though.

Is it the hood or firewall that is the issue? I have a cowl so hood clearance is not a problem.

It would hit the cowl if anything.

Well guys I think I am going to try the L76 truck intake on my LS2/L92 build. I have no problem cutting up the metal cowl and have a cowl hood. The much lower price (than an LS3 intake) and additional tq should make it a good choice.
