Default Ported FAST 102 vs Ported LS7 Intake !

OK guys n gals, here's the skinny on the comparison that was done today on my 454 (Resleeved ls2 block by RED. 2000 TA 3.73 S60, M6, 1 7/8 headers through a 4" mufflex Magnaflow 4" straight through, LS7 heads from WCCH. SLP lid and KN filter CL SD tune.

I had the tune pretty close for the stocker but was modified and verified by Jeremy Formato in Gainsville, FL.

The Red line is the ported LS7 intake and the green is the FAST 102mm.

The top (Blue line) is my original tune.

Total gain of 19hp and 23 ft lb's of torque ! Pretty good chunk a change but I think it was worth it ! Feels more responsive when da pedal goes DOWN !!

Also check out another thread in the dyno section. I want to know what everyone thinks as to What CAM I have ? ? As you can see @ 2500 I already had 400 + lb's of torque and that was the first pull.

Enjoy !

Can you post a better picture of the graph?

Whats your cam specs? Compression?

Or just list the RWTQ/RWHP numbers for all 3.

.

just click on the thumbnail and then once that opens, double click on it again and another window will open with a very large graph.

I was wondering if the cam was kind of small because 559 RWHP is kind of low.

Must be little, like upper 230's or so. I know there's a bunch of 427ci C6 Z06's with mid 240 cams, head work, exhaust, making around 580 RWHP.
And some over 600 RWHP with more aggressive cams.

There's also 416's making close to your power with 230 sized cams and L92 heads/L76 intakes.

So whats the cam you're using.......?

Default Cam size

You guys are very close,

Its a Crane grind of 234/238 on a 115 LSA +2 with a max lift of only .583 lift .

If I would do it again, I'd do the 238/250 .

It's good the way it is. At 3000 rpm's I already have about 450 ft lbs of torque.

1st and 2nd and a lil in 3rd, it just spins anyway. Maybe too much torque? LOL....

Jeremy Formato down here in FL. ported the fast. He said he did not open up the inside much. He opened the runners and port matched and opened up the throat a little.

On a Fbody, It's a TIGHT fit ! On my TA, It clears the Cowl under the windshield just by about 1/4 of an inch.

I thought according to you that all the heads/cam C6 ZO6's made 630rwhp?

Default Low hp ?

Yeah ls6427, I could have gone with a bigger cam and gained more hp.

But those 427's and 416's don't have the torque I do down low ?

That really get's my big ol turd @ 3600 with me in it, movin quick

BTW, it was starting to spin the tires on the dyno, so might be more there then the dyno says ?

Every single C6 Z06 that puts in a cam and ports the heads makes 630 RWHP....what are you kidding. How can that be?

Read my post again that you quoted.

Most make around 580-590 RWHP around here, but they have better idle quality. And there are a handful, maybe 8 or 9 that I've seen that make in the 630's with more aggressive cams. One did 193mph 2 weeks ago at the "Mile Run" out here at Dade Collier airport. Did that speed in a standing mile. Only three cars to go faster were two Twin-turbo Ford GT 500's (211 and 214 mph) and a big single turbo Supra (212mph).

All you have to do is drive your car 3 hours down here to Lauderdale any Friday night....go to The Tower Shops, they are always there. You'll see no less than 50 Vettes that show up every Friday night. All the ones that make sick power went to the same builder for their work too. You'll also see no less than 400 other modded cars ranging from run-of-the-mill 500 RWHP street cars to 1,500 RWHP turbo street cars. Syclones, Typhoons, GN's, Supras, T-Buckets, old school muscle cars, etc.....Word is, don't know if its true yet though......there's an NRE twin-turbo daily driver slapping down 1,700 RWHP thats gonna be showing up.

And around 11pm....everyone, maybe 400 cars take a little 20 minute ride out west and people put their money where their mouths are.

Come on down......

The only 1500 and 1700rwhp cars from south Florida were at Bradenton Motorsports Park this weekend for the ORTC race, which is where I was. I like REAL racing not imaginary internet bullshit that you talk.
Now back to the topic of this thread that was a Fast intake vs LS7.

As I thought, another misinformed racer. Come on down and see for yourself. Only way you'll learn.

Also, not everyone likes drag racing. To alot of people its the gayest, most cheesy thing on earth.

Some people like a complete performance car. Like exotics and modded cars. You'll never see a Lambo or Veyron jerking off at a drag race track. I guess my friends 1,280 RWHP TT Heffner Viper is a mirage. Come race it.

Looks like you gained some good power throughout the curve. Very nice sir! I know damn well that Richard @ WCCH does good work when it comes to the heads, so I can only imagine that the cam just isn't what the motor wants considering the peak horsepower made with a ported FAST 102, LS7 headed 454. Gotta say though, your power under the curve is serious and you definitely have to take into consideration that there could be more in the exhaust setup and the fact that you're running a geared S60 rear end (definitely eats up some power).

Overall, nice comparison man! Thanks

Default Fuel Rail Mounts

Just to let everyone know, the FUEL Rail Mount holes on the FAST 102 are about 16mm Taller.

I had to fab up some small brackets to make my billet rails work on the FAST !

I may try to return to that dyno and have a few guys sit on the back so the tires won't spin and see if there is any difference ?

The best thing to do is dyno on some dragradials and bag them down to 16-18psi and that usually helps keep wheelspin to a minimum.

Every week, the same night, 400 major hp cars drive a mere 20 minutes from a major metropolitan area and race for money, including multiple 4-digit power number cars ranging from semi-rare AWD American made cars, to muscle cars, to imports, and they race. I saw that in a movie once and it was more believable, because they at least used piece of shit run of the mill cars with stupid paint jobs.

Define close to his power?

And do you have any proof of those numbers?
