Default ported 243 heads from GTO LS2

I will be replacing my engine and I will have stock heads sitting around, and probably stock everything else.

What are the proper steps to begin building up the engine?

I figured the heads would be first.

Are the stock heads good enough to put money into them or is it less expensive to buy aftermarket?

243 heads are a great casting in the right hands.

Who would be the right hands? Any 3 vendors in particular that would do an awesome job on them?

I still have stock 243's on my Goat for now, and I am not displeased with the power they are making.
