Default Yella Terra #6667 - valve cover clearance???

Hello everyone,

I'm putting together an L92-headed mill and will be using the Corvette-style GM valve covers. Anyone have experience with Yella Terra #6667 (1.7 ratio) rockers and having to mod the valve cover undersides in any way? Just want to know what I'm up against ahead of time.

I'm using a fairly large cam - 0.620+ lift. Valve cover spacers / aftermarket covers are not an option.

Thanks!

I've got a smaller cam (.590 lift), and I did have to knock a few of the high spots down on the covers for clearance. You might find it to be a tight fit. Katech has replacement rocker cover available with more clearance if it somes down to that.

I see. If you don't mind me asking, what model year and vehicle valve covers were you using? I got the latest Corvette ones as they supposedly have more clearance, particularly with offset-rocker heads.

Anyone have any idea whether LS2 and LS3 Corvette valve covers are the same?

i have a similar situation on a set of trick flow heads.
the valve covers i have, the baffles have been removed.
they clear the valve covers without any grinding.

If you remove everything (baffles/shielding) on the underside of the valve cover, you will be fine.

The LS3 valve covers should be fine. If you run the LS2 you will have to grind on the baffle some but it can be left in place.

I run the GMPP on my L92's w/ YT Ultralights.
