I have a ls2 block and I wanna reach 800-1000RWHP So I must install a 402-403 stroker kit I know this is the maximum that I can go with a ls2 block but someone said to me that I cant reach that amount of 1000RWHP unless I resleeve what are your suggestions guys

From what I have been hearing, you should NOT push an aluminum LS block past the 550hp level. Everyone has different opinions on what that max HP level is for an aluminum block, but the average is about 550hp. You would be better off getting an iron 6.0L block (LQ4 or LQ9) to RELIABLY achieve your hi-horsepower goals. To each is own and this is just my .02 cents...

Guys look at what Fireball has been doin with his LS2 block, 1700+hp And did just fine for a long time.. It pushed him to a 7.99@177 I think the LS2 block is stouter than yall think..

not true at all, the dyno section is full of people making well over 550 hp on a aluminum block. Some people make 550 on stock internals. If you dont believe it check the FI or nitrous section. It takes alot more than 550hp to run 8's and thats what people are doing on STOCK gm blocks with forged internals.
Most agree that a aluminum block is fine until about 1000rwhp, but like stated above fireball took his to 1700 and ran a 7.99 with it. So I would think a well built LS2 would have no problem with 800+ hp especially when plenty of people are making 800+ on a LS1 block. Look at 'TRUST' 800+rwhp 396 LS1 in the 9's at more than full weight.

i have built lots of ls2 engines that make over 550 n/a and the ls2 block holds u just fine the block only starts to give up when you make over 1000 and don't have your tune up right but that is going to happen with any engine. It all about that clean tune up!

Blown LS1 checking in, all stock internals pushing over 550 at the rears - well over a year and all is fine... In fact, I am adding more boost to get over 600 at the rears.
If you already have the block you could send it to ERL/Morris motorsports and have them build you a resleeved 427 ls2 short block for $4500, killer deal, but I don't have any personal experience with them. Also the ls2 has been pushed way way way past 550hp and has run reliably.

Some actually knew what they were talking about and others, well, it was questionable. I initially set out to do a twin turbo, LS2 and almost everyone told/directed me to a iron block...I consulted several different engine builders, machine shops and "expert" advice. They said that you can push a LS2 block to those levels, but not too many recommended that at all. They said to use the LSX block if budget was not an issue. But since budget is an issue, they said the LQ4/LQ9 block would hold up BETTER/MORE RELIABLE than the LS2 block.

Fact is....whoever told you not to go above the 550 mark is not very experienced with LSx stuff. The LS2 stock blocks are good for 1,000 hp in stock form.
I've been talking to the OP in PM.
I told him that the LS2 block is good to handle 1,200 RWHP and even more depending on the build and the tune. 800-1,000...easily with a good build and good tune.
But I was explaining to him that the stock sleeves are what limits it to around 800 RWHP and still be relatively confident it will stay together and be reliable for a long time....again assuring the build and TUNE are good.
Resleeving the LS2 block....and you simply have a BEAST and he can go 1,200 RWHP with no problem.
Fact is this.....he has a MagnaCharger. Unless I'm wrong, those are not all that powerful. I suggested that he stays with the stock crank to save $1,500, buys new forged rods and forged pistons. Then either stays stock cubes or maybe go to just a 370ci by boring/honing it to 4.030".
Either way, whether stock cubes or a 370ci...it should basically produce the same power/torque and it will last for years and years if tuned properly. It'll only make around 600 RWHP with the Magna anyway, right?????
But with staying stock cubes the sleeves will just be a little stronger because they weren't bored/honed.
Correct me if I'm wrong.............
....and if he wants to resleeve it, I believe it costs right at $1,550 for Race Engine Development to do it...the best shop in the world for that type of work.

I also think they meant stock internals cant go past 550 because there are many aluminum blocks going past 800rwhp.
Stock cast LSx cranks are good to 1,000 RWHP. Rods and pistons are probably good for N/A to 600 RWHP. But boost and spray probably not good past 600 RWHP.
I know a few guys spraying totally stock bottom end engines into the 500's RWHP range and they're doing fine.
