Default GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout!!!!

GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Announced

Despite the challenging times in Detroit, the NMCA and Scoggin-Dickey, GM Performance Parts' host dealer for the '09 LSX Shootout, have have guaranteed that all purses and bonus prizes are ready and waiting to be awarded at the event which will take place at Memphis Motorsports Park (TN) the weekend of Oct. 15-18, 2009. The NMCA expects the event to be even larger than the previous two years. GM Performance Parts will have a major presence with their custom rig at the LSX Shootout and their host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey, will be at the show in force! GM High-Tech Performance magazine has just announced a special heads-up Shootout for Chevy's newest hot rod. The GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout will take the top-8 competitors from Saturday's LSX True Street Challenge and race them heads-up in a Sunday bonus race where the winner will receive an LSX block, courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey, and color feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine!

"We are very excited that GM High-Tech Performance magazine has chosen to create a special class to showcase 2010 Camaro performance," said Steve Wolcott, CEO of NMCA. "We have been partners with GM High-Tech Performance for many years and the NMCA will do whatever it can to showcase the awesome performance of the all-new Camaro. We expect the 2009 LSX Shootout to be much larger than previous years because of the growing LS performance segment, more media support and, of course, the release of the all-new Camaro."

GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Class Rules:

Each contestant will be required to register and compete in the Tremec True Street class (vehicles must meet True Street rules) on Saturday and complete all three runs, only the fastest eight 2010s will be selected. The eight competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 Pro Tree. Each Camaro must have an LS or LLT (V-6)-based motor, OEM-style transmission, electronic fuel injection and be stock-appearing. Racing seats are permitted, and each car must comply with applicable NHRA and NMCA safety rules. The winner will receive an LSX block courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center as well as an LSX Shootout jacket, plaque, and a feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine. The runner-up will be awarded a jacket and a plaque; all contestants will receive LSX Shootout T-shirts and subscriptions to GMHTP.

I think "LS or LLT (V-6)-based motor," means either the SS which has an LS3 motor I think

I sure hope so because it would suck to see a whole bunch of v6 camaros when there could be SS's.

They might need to clarify that rule so people will know either way.

It said each Camaro must have an LS, meaning the LS3 or L99, or LLT (V6)- based motor. Both the V8 and V6 cars can compete.
