Hahaha I know how that goes. I need a whole new drivetrain and the time to put the new motor in. Back seat, etc is minor details.

Sounds like you and Scott have more body work than motor work to get ready for the Shootout!

Well... It's actually getting closer than you might think. Still plenty to be done, but it's getting there. Plan is to have it running by the end of next week. Fix what is messed up, road test it, fix what's messed up again, then it will be driven from Frisco to Memphis.

I'm still waiting on my tranny guy to call for me to pick up my trans. He's putting new clutches and seals and replacing the cracked drum that caused second gear to give up. Four weeks to go and it's gonna be down to the wire again. Hopefully it won't rain everyday like it has been and I'll get one practice/test day at the track before we leave.

The track has updated the starting lights with a very quick LED and the finish line lights, with a win light below your ET and MPH (no more lights light up on the retaining walls for the winner) this year.

Yes, can you please do this? I've tried numerous times to update it from "Advanced" but it would not take. Thanks. (30 days or so out)

Tell that guy to get on it! 4 weeks is not long. The way I look at it I have 4 more Saturdays to test. Lost this past weekend "test time" since it felt like raining 5 days in a row and saturated Dallas, Tx. Ugh! My girl (the race car) has been crying and asking me why she can't come out and play...

I don't know. I figured that since I will be racing, I need to find something to complain about... something to criticize. I mean don't they go hand-in-hand?
Here's one.. Since I work for the company, why do I have to pay an entry fee?
And another... Why is it a conflict of interest if I win actually something?
Oh oh... and... why isn't there a class for LS2-powered Buicks, running on 17-inch rims with skinny rear tires?
And this all-time classic -- Why do I have have to park my $50,000 car in the grass?

(Please read as sarcasm)

Scott, have you ever been down the 1320? Do you need some training?

Yup! Trained by the one and only Bret Kepner. My first-ever race netted a runner-up (NSCA St. Louis '99) Busted Mark "Preacher Man" Walter and Jason Phillips asses on the way to the final which I lost to Kepner.
Was actually in the top ten in points most of the season that year, but couldn't make the last couple of races since I couldn't work and race at the same time.

So bring it on, 'Vette boy!
