I just wanted to jump on here and thank you for all of the interest in the LSX Shootout. We greatly appreciate it, and we look forward to meeting you, seeing your cars, watching your race, and help you find the right parts for you to get the most out of your LSX-powered vehicle.
It's been a tough year for GM, but we are working hard to build great cars - and at GM Performance Parts, we are working hard to continue to offer the industry's best crate engines and speed parts.
The bankruptcy set our business line team back almost six months. But, we are happy to report that the LSX blocks will be back in stock this week, and we are starting to ship the Camaro BIW - 7 of them have already made it into the states.
This year, we'll once again have Scoggin-Dickey, one of our top GMPP dealers, representing us at Memphis. They'll have a full staff of LSX experts ready to help you find the parts you are looking for.
The GM staff will consist of a number of folks from the GMPP team including our lead engineer as well as the engineer that is specifically responsible for the LSX line of products. We're bringing an additional trailer full of LS and LSX crate engines so that you can see (and touch) what these products are all about.
We are also going to be showing the much-anticipated LSX Drag Race heads - both as-cast and CNC-ported. We're seeing 430+ cfm numbers out of this race head. You won't want to miss these. We've also got several street heads (with the same 6-bolt/cylinder head design) for you to check out.
This weekend, you'll also be able to see our new LSX 454 and the blower-ready LSX 376. Both of these engines will be shipping within 30 days, so place your order with Scoggin-Dickey this weekend.
The GM team will also have a special guest from Chevrolet - Johnny "Camaro" Cox from the Camaro Marketing team will be bring a surprise down to Memphis. See the latest in Camaro goodies directly from Chevrolet. Ask Johnny Camaro about the Z28. Ask Johnny Camaro about anything you want to know about the new Camaro. He'll be there all weekend, and Chevrolet is looking forward to helping you find the Camaro of your dreams.
And, we're all very excited to see our GMPP-backed Camaro racer, Uncle Robin and the Hot Rod magazine test car '10 Camaro. Robin has been working overtime on a crate engine combination that should give you a great idea of how these cars respond to engine swaps .... on a drag strip not just on the dyno. Thanks for your hard work Robin - looking forward to seeing the car in action.
Okay, that's a quick look at the plans that we've got in place for next weekend.
Most of all, we hope that you'll join us at Memphis this weekend to take part in the racing, car showing, and conversation with like-minded individuals that is the LSX Shootout.
Please, stop by the GMPP trailer and say hello. I look forward to seeing all of you.
Thanks and travel safe,
Dr. Jamie
