I'm curious about converting a 1990 454 SS truck motor to EFI and putting it in my 95 LT1 chevy caprice. I looked around in C.A.T.S. and it look like i could change the tables and values and get the motor to run right with a crank trigger in place of the opti. Has anyone attempted this?

I also contemplated doing that but wasn't sure how hard it would be to make it work properly. I am sure it could be done but it will take alot time and patience to get it right. Goodluck.

I wanted to try it out but decided against it. I do know that you will need more than a crank trigger to run the LT1 computer. On top of a 4x crank signal you will also need a 2x cam signal so the computer knows what cylinder is firing. This could be acheived I believe by welding a magnet/pickup to the timing cover. If I had the time and money I would defintely attempt it.
