Automotive News, Media & Press - Saleen is for sale

The economic downturn is killing the auto industry. :( I know that many of you aren't fans of Saleen, and quite honestly I'm not much of a fan, but this does not bode well for any of us. It's indicative of what's to come across the board. I will say that the S7 is one bad dude! :nono:

Is ASC part of the deal too? Saleen and ASC had the same CEO and were both owned by Hancock.

That sucks.. I wish the economy would turn around. I know if it does oil will go back up and still be a problem for the automotive industry. Its a loose/loose option..

The economy always comes back strong...I just hope this time isn't the exception. Thats too bad about Saleen, but maybe they shouldn't have asked such high prices for their product. Greed sometimes helps..sometimes hurts. In the end, it will always be destructive.

I think you were correct in one of your other posts about the industry as a whole needing to downsize. It is unfortunate about Saleen (and I think you will see more suppliers and aftermarket companies bite the dust)but sometimes attrition is the best thing especially in a free market society!
