I got Edelbrock E-tec 200 heads and I will be using the stock rocker arms the previous owner was using self align rocker arms on these heads and they got guide plates I removed the rocker arms and I will be using the stock rocker arms I was searching for pictures of stock rocker arms shows the difference between self align and non self align rocker arms because I got alot of stock rocker arms in the back yard and I dont know which one is self align and which one isnt

If you look close the self align rocker goes down lower on the valve stem(has side walls if you will). The tip of the rocker is flat on the non self align rockers. With guide plates I would go with out. Hope I didnt make things worse:confused:

correct. the self-aligning ones have a cup to keep the valve stem centered in the rocker

today I went to the garage that has my engine the first picture of the valve springs its the same thing that the rocker tip touchs the valve but it has guide plates should I remove the guide plates?
