Stereo & Electronics - Amps for my 2 Subs

I want to put in my car (camaro 1999) a 2 SONY XPLOD XS-L124P5B 12" subwoofers (1300 peak power watt, 380 rms, single 4 ohms.... EACH...) and i already bought the NEW SONY CDX-GT420U Head Unit (has 2 Sets of Preamp Outputs ).

My question is what would be the best CLASS D MONO AMPLIFIER for me ?
Im looking for a amp that can give me a 700-750rms to feed both subwoofers.

Plus i have little bit information about how to hook an amp so u used this site

i found a similar sony amp its the Sony XM-GTR6001 (also in ebay) which IMO its a little better than the XM-d9001gtr.

I'm using the ZX400.1, rated at 480W, driving a 10" Alpine Type R Sub and I love it.

Yeah, forget Boss. AVOID these brands: Boss, Pyramid, Pyle, Lanzar, Jensen, Legacy/American Legacy, Visonik, Soundstorm (who try to capitalize on SoundSTREAM's name), Sony (for amplifiers... and speakers, but too late on that one), etc. There are many more bad ones but I can't name them all.

Kicker amps are decent mid-range amps. Kenwood and other brands like Hifonics are a little bit lower budget but still recommendable. I think Kicker would probably be a good recommendation for you. And make sure to pay attention to the continuous ("RMS") watts of your subwoofers more than the peak values. You can get an amp rated lower or higher than your subwoofers as long as you set the gains correctly. But a 750W continuous amp. would be about right.

ur subs take 800rms or so giving em 1200 aint gonna help u really idk wtf u are trying to accomplish a lot of bass without turning the knob too much, so whats gonna happen when u turn the knob up more clip the piss out of em

if ur subs take 800rms giving them 900 or 1200 wont really make a difference is more power nice yeah but they are sonys they might last a few weeks at 800rms before u destory them

turn ur gain up all the way if u want it will be real loud when the volume is low then when u turn the volume up u can clip the living piss out of the sonys and blow em up then buy more sonys and do it all over again

That's 375watts rms to each sub hooked up for a 2 ohm load .

I've had no trouble with my Kicker amps , run them every day .

A mono Kicker amp will wire 2 subs , simply wire both positives together , and both negatives together and put in the corresponding place in the amp .

It doesn't matter too much where you go. I usually get mine from Wal-mart or BBY. You can do that - get the 4 gauge kit.

If you still use side-post battery terminals, get this as well: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=GMBT

The way you use the post there is by cutting the plastic on your stock POSITIVE battery terminal off 'til you just have the ring, and you have the ring terminal for your amp power, and you just screw them both onto that terminal. The terminal itself screws into the battery (DO NOT GO TOO TIGHT) and then it has another screw for the terminals. Make sure your now exposed terminals do not touch the car chassis - cover them up if you need to or want to. You only need one of these because you will be grounding your amp differently, not with a wire to the battery.

If you want to do big 3, do a search on the forum about it. I recommend www.weldingsupply.com for that wire.

with that much power you want to upgrade to a better battery. optima deep cycle is a good up grade because it allows you to keep the side pose but put all your stereo power on the top post and not hack the wiring up on the car.

also I am also going to recommend kicker here as well. you can find them used on ebay also. the zx800.2 or 850.2 will put out the power your looking for also if you get dual vc 2 ohms. you can run these amps in 2 ohm stereo and bridge 4 ohm mono at the same time.

No need for a better battery. If you want to upgrade power delivery then go for the alternator. That is, unless, you plan to crank it for extended times with the car battery off.

I recommend the Hifonics brutus its what I have right now they are supposed to be rated at 1600rms but I hear they put out around 13-14 You can get them for around 250 shipped of ebay!
