All

Wanted to take a few minutes and thank all of you for your guidance, encouragement, tips, tricks, research, and of course a health bit of doubt that kept me going. (had to prove you wrong)

The car I am referring to is a 99 Miata with a LS1 that I have been working on for several (many) months. I have made the effort to document the build with lessons learned etc. I will soon post track footage (if the car holds up) and look forward to working through a new track car setup. The first track outing will be next weekend.

The link to the build is:

Happy to help and or refer others to the subject matter experts as you all have done for me.

To all those working on a swap and or thinking about doing a swap; Yes it is worth the hassle, yes you can put the power down, yes there is enough clearance, yes there are good kits out there, yes it can be done without a full workshop, yes it is the way every Miata should be!

Could not of got this done with out the LS Tech members THANK YOU.

On the numbers, will do.

The car is currently at 2348 lbs, this is lighter than a stock 99 miata. While the engine is large it is a perfect fit. Added better than 1% additional weight to the rear wheels too. In short it was like it was made for it.

Man, that's just a little monster. . . I bet you could just roast the tires off in that thing.

2300 Pound car with over 300 Horse at all times. = Bad ass!

Dude, I hope you're not too put out by this setback. With all of the extensive work, as well as physical, mental and emotional energy that you've invested into this project, fixing the motor and 'tranny issues is nothing compared to how far you've come.

You're a genius to alot of us-stay strong and you'll get your time in the sun...

Here is a short clip of the car in action on the track. The camera is in a Spec Miata race car giving chase to my car.

Thank you for the encouragement, frankly I need it right now. I won't give up and will get on top of the engine and transmission issues. I eagerly look forward to posting the right setup for suspension, corner weight, cooling, .....

I know it is hard to find all of this information and if I can help someone not have to reinvent the wheel I will.

Thanks again means allot.

So pulled the oil filter, cut it open. There is bearing material in the filter. Not good. Will have to do a rebuild on the engine and trans.
