Generation IV External Engine - Where to mount oil temp guage sending unit?

I posted this in another section but not getting anywhere, figured I would try in here.

I already have a autometer oil pressure sending unit mounted remotely to the block on top of the oil filter to the frame rail by the front of the motor. I would like to install an oil temp guage, my thought was to use a tee and have it mounted with the autometer sending unit (not the factory). However, since this is a pressure gauge and no return and remote mounted would it work for a good spot for the temp sending unit? My thought was it might give lower then accurate reading being the oil does not circulate thru the pressure line and the fact it is remote mounted, am I wrong? If we are talking a difference of a couple of degrees than fine but if it will not work let me know what you guys have done in the past. I am trying to have a nice clean install without drilling into the oil pan or running a signal wire all around the motor. Thanks again.

I put remote oil filters on mine and put the oil temp gauge sender there.

Also thought I'd add the remote filters seem to act as an oil cooler, can't prove it but the oil temps seem to be lower than I would have expected.

I have an oil cooler and there was a 1/8npt port on the adapter that screws to the pan, so I put the sending unit there. Another option is to ditch the oil level sensor in the pan and install the sending unit in that hole.

I do like that idea. I will have to figure out the thread size and look into that option if I come up with nothing else. Thanks
