What company makes the ebay heads? Some no name china company? I only skimmed the info. I would go for the patriots if those were my only 2 choices.

I would use the patriots and day over tose junk Ebat heads...This is where you need to buy them:

https://www.patriot-performance.com/

Those Ebay heads are pro comp or something like that, they are only good if you have them ported and basically do all the extra work.

I would use the ones from Patriot from Summit but have them checked out and cleaned up a bit just to make sure but for the price they are well worth it.

Thats a pretty good deal , personally I would opt for the 2.02/1.60 with the angled plugs instead of the straight. Its much eaisier to swap plugs and see indexing marks.

3 Questions. What kinda cubes are they going on, how much power are u looking for and how hard are u gonna lean on it.

Not sure about the patriots, but i do know the procomps are made in china and are complete junk unless u have about 800 dollors of port work done to them. And even then u only have a shiny turd. The china heads come with shallow valveseats which hurts precious pressfit. They are known for droping valveseats. I wouldnt waste my money on any china heads. And i know u have heard this a million times but you are better off saving a littlewhile longer and getting some AFRs or RHS heads. You never know what you will do in the future and wind up needing better heads. Then u have lost 900 dollors only to save 400. Just remember they dont make them cheaper for no reason.

So true, but the sad thing is, Scat and Eagle are imported forgings for lower ends, i just found this out. Not all China products are junk, just most.

+1 on the AFR heads. That's what I'm doing right now, saving for some. I wouldn't mind hitting the lottery, then I would have the motor built by new years :D But I am also going to put my motor on the crack. So really it is all in what your intentions are.

this is for a friend of mine. he has a 355 with a scat rotating assembile. when he built the motor he did not have the money to built the topend so he just put what he had on it. the car is a 90 camaro with a th350 trans, 3000 stall, 373 gears, and a 125shot. now he is wanting to bulid the topend. he was thimking about the patriots with a vic jr intake, and about a 555 lift and 240@50? he has a 650 holley double pumper carb

that combo is pretty close to a setup one of my friend has except his is a 383. the dart pro1s are decent. the 215(?) runner one should be a decent performer for a 355. also the gm 200(?) cc runner fastburns perform well for what they are. i think there was a head made by i think proline that flowed decent air. those are just decent heads but all are probably still fairly inexpensive and capable of respectable hp.

The Dart and GM Fastburn heads are...OK, but they are AWESOME when ported out. They have so much room for performance when they go under the knife.

You are right both scat and eagle are casted over seas. But eagle stuff is machined here in america. And is a far sight better product than Scat. Man if u only had to balance a scat crank haha. You would pick an eagle crank up and hug it every time u walked by it. Yea i wouldnt put a Scat chain on my bicycle if that was there specialty. And as far as holding up i guess they are alright. But for some reason u got to be a frigin con artist to balance one of their cranks. And its every one ive ever done to. But Scat does have a high end crank that is made here in america. But heak they cost as much as a callies. And i surly wouldnt buy a scat over any of callies cranks.

Yea like slow trap said, he would be better off putting the large port fast burns on it if hes on that tight of a budget. And assuming with his budget hes planning to run a flat tappet cam. If thats the case i would run the comp XE284. Its like 240/246 dur at .050 with 507 510 lift. That is an awsome street strip piece, and will make a small block sound like a beast. Those heads and cam with a victor jr would prolly make around 425 HP at the flywheel. And would wake da frig up with the protein shake.

have used both said brands in lsx and sbc motors,
get what u pay for does not necessarily apply to everything.
eagle cranks are very popular in lsx builds, scat h beams are of excellent quality also
