Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - Any familiar with 350 TBI engines?

My question is, a 350 TBI out of a '92 truck, what type of heads would it have? Would it take the 4 bolt intake versus the 6 bolt? I assume the heads would not be angle plug heads. I have not seen the engine to be able to see it for myself.

Thanks.

It should be a centerbolt motor w /a roller cam and i think it has vortec heads w/ 4bolt intake & 4 bolt main's.

They are garbage. Probably cast#193 swirl port heads. If you look at the port with the intake off it looks bigger which is deceiving, it's a perfect rectangle instead of the old style that sort of angles smaller towards the top.

Inside the port they have a ramp that is supposed to give the fuel/air charge a swirl. Instead it chokes the ports down.

They are the worst flowing head GM ever made.
Good for low end torque to maybe 4000 or 4500 if you're lucky.

They have 6 bolts per side and the center bolt holes point more upward, meaning you'd have to slot the holes on an old style intake.

They are straight plug, GM hasn't put angle plug heads on a production GEN 1 since the early 70's.

Vortec heads came out in 1996.

Yes, different heads are a must. Yours are likely #193 or 191 and they are the swirl port, low perf, truck heads. The block has the provisions for a roller cam/lifters, but I have never seen truck engine with a roller before 1995.

Yea, those heads are great, if you are not looking for anything but a engine to get you down the road, they will make table top like power numbers to 4500ish and then that FAIL.

They are a great head for stocking up on 10 sets and then cash in at the scrap yard.
