Boy, you can't get more political than this moderators. But you've let it ride so I guess someone needs to comment..

It sounds like the poster wants our GOVERNMENT to assist poor little you by providing health care!! Then GM, Ford, and the rest of the country will OK.

Our government, you me and every other warm bodied person in the USA is already responsible for the 11 trillion dollar debt. And that number isn't the total #.

5.4 billion dollars is a lot of money. But it's only 5.4% of one trillion. And, you want that government to manage health care too?

Wow, this is something that probably shouldn't be here.
Why am I not surprised that the poster is from the north west?
The role of government, as I believe, should be to protect our shores, deliver our mail and leave the citizenry the hell alone!
Obviously this is a little simplified, but not by much.

This is hardly political, it's a fact based website, and I didn't see one mention of the bailout in it anywhere. I saw no mention of the government in it anywhere.

Regardless people do need to be made aware of this situation. 1 in 10 jobs will be lost in North America, not just the US, North America, if they go down.

I don't want to sound too pessimistic or untrusting but you will hopefully understand if I have concerns about the impartiality of any organization based in the DC area. Their figures are impressive and I have seen the figures presented before on how a single domestic automaker job supports way more other domestic jobs than any foreign automaker job.

As to level field institute, I'll read their info and consider it. First impression is it seems to make sense. They appear to be an independent organization presenting the information. The UAW, as they are certainly free to do (and are wise to do), at least supports level field institute enough to have their president speak at a UAW Special Convention on Collective Bargaining.

These are facts that have been thrown around on different news websites and even on the television for about a year and a half now. Some people just don't pay attention.
