Ok, If I have 2 12" dual voice coil 4 ohm sub woofers that handle 400 watts rms. An amp that puts out 400 watts rms X2 channels. and a 10 farad capactior. Whats the best way to hook all of this up?

Well I think a 10 farad cap is a monster for 400 watts. The main power wire coming from the battery goes to the power side of the cap. and the off of the same post the rest of the power wire goes to the power in of the amp. I do belive most caps have a ground, ground it to the body some where.Make sure you ground the amp too. Make sure you remove the paint from the the contact point. For the speakers you will need jumper cables. You should have four connections on one speaker. Two red and two black. You have to jump one black and one red together that will make the one voice coil work when power is appiled to the other one. Mine are set up red, black, red, black. I jumped the two in the middle. Then connect the other red to the connetor on the box, and the same with the black. Duplicate for other speaker. Then on the amp you will have speaker wires one red and one black going to the left sub and then a red and black wire going to the right sub. That should have you set up. If you have ran the RCA cable to the amp too.

ok thanks. I got the capacitor for free so I thought I would put it in too. So do you think an amp putting out 400 rms at 4 ohms X2 channes to each sub that handles 400 rms at 4 ohms would work good?

look for an amp that could handle 1000 rms @1ohm coz if u want connect them in parallel u will get the one ohm load.
like in diagram 1 here http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=4
IMO the kenwood KAC-9104D would be good for u

I think I'm going to go with this amp and subs
# Diablo Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier
# RMS Power Rating:
* 4 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.
* 2 ohms: 1350 watts x 1 chan.
-------------------------------------------------------------
# 12" Dual 2 Ohms eXcelon Series Subwoofer
# Power Handling:
* Peak: 2000 watts
* RMS: 600 watts
and run it at 2 ohms.

Boss DD2600 amp
and
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XW1222D subs
plus those subs look really cool IMO
So if I run it at 2 ohm then each sub will get 675 rms power right? since the amp sends 1350 at 2 ohm.

correct but keep the bass level down coz anything more than 600rms will hurt ur sub.
and the BOSS every body BS`s about it.
Look at the KENWOOD KAC-X1R MONO its a nice amp and has good rated power.
Edit:
* RMS Power at 4 Ohm: 1 x 600 Watts
* RMS Power at 2 Ohm: 1 x 1200 Watts

That one would be nice and the blue LEDs match my capacitor but its also $300 :(

Do you think this would make a big difference over my current wal mart subs and alpine 400 watt amp. They hit pretty hard, but a lot of people are saying I wont notice a big difference unless I get a bigger box.

PM pentavolvo hes the one to talk-to, he helps me alot :D.
but campairing a 400 wat witha a 1200 rms, sure the 1200 will hit harder.
