check this out, my dad showed me this. Not sure about performance applications but no more flats or low tires. Im sure they will add a sidewall, they are just trying to show whats inside.

These tires are made in South Carolina , USA by Michelin.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...

yea.... I wouldn't hold my breath... the design is like 15+ years old.

Those tires have been in use for years on Heavy equipment to avoid flats. I think I read years ago the problem with it being a passenger car tire was it's lateral handling ability.

yeah, that looks like it would heavily deform in any type of hard cornering, even an evasive maneuver on the highway.

It looks like steering feel would be non-existent with those and suspension tuning would be completely different.
