Well we are now a all LS engine family, Got the wife a 09 G8 GT. what a great car. Its as quick as the camaro was stock , but much more refined. Its a bit quiet for me, but she loves it, She was having no part in paying the extra 10g for the GXP, Plus the Gas Guzzler tax (1700.00)was a deal breaker on that for her anyway.
And looks like the WRX sold in the 1st 24 hrs so it became even more affordable

I do like the G8's the 6 speed trans does make the diff, but any modified Fbody is going to put lengths on it. It is def faster then stockish LT1's and LS1's

i test drove a g8gt a few months ago. very nice car. very responsive for its size and weight but it didnt seem as fast as my camaro or GTO when they were stock. GXP is another story.

Its loaded with everything but no sunroof, ( I am to tall, it eats headroom) it was 28900 and change, out the door, incl fees, but not tax or reg.
We were very close to buying the trailblazer SS, they handle outstanding and haul ass, but the wife wanted a CAR to commute into Boston and the TBSS was just too big for her. 09 Is the last year for the TBSS and that almost pushed us that way.
The TBSS is a nicer car to drive than my father-in-laws 70K BMW X5, better handleing, faster, more comfortable. The BMW fit and finish is better, but not 30k worth, And they are willing to deal on TBSS's. BMW would not even talk to me at the dealership, arriogant assholes.

Nice cars but I opted not to buy one once I test drove it. I found that for the money it wasn't as comfortable or as well put together inside. Quick car and great looks though. Glad u enjoy it that's all that matters

Congrats on the new car! Looks pretty much identical to mine.

That gas guzzler tax is bullshit. Don't we pay for the gas when we fill the tank? If my car gets shitty mileage then I'm the one putting money in my tank. If I'm willing to pay for the gas (and the tax on gas) then why the hell should I have to pay more on top of it? What's next, an "air tax" each time I fill my tires? Goddamn tree huggers. I'm gonna go out right now and cut a tree down.

Congrats!

My wife & I have been meaning to get out a test drive one as of late. We're definitely considering it as our next family car. We recently test drove a BMW 335i and I'd like to see how it compares. IMO, torque over turbos :)

They dont seem as fast because they are MUCH MUCH MUCH more refined than any Fbody that ever hit the road.

Great buy. I love that shade of red on them.

Good choice haha. 600$ magnaflow will get proper sound out of the exhaust but still keep it super quiet while cruising. People seem to like it.

Nice car. I'd love a G8 to D/D, I'm just afraid it won't handle the snow well.

I feel the same way. I'd prob still have something FWD for those shitty winter days, especially where I live now, that hill sucks.

Yeah that's why I bought the bonneville. V8, Nice interior, 4door, 18 wheels, "Pontiac" :)
Only difference is the FWD. Damn thing has less clearance that the TA though, otherwise it's great. Does decent in the snow with KDWS's.

I've come to the quick realization that I need a truck though. It's gonna suck a little more to commute (gas), but having my own place and living out in the snowbelt line I need the utility and 4wd. I think in a couple yrs I'm gonna have to trade the Bonnie for a 07+ Avelanche or something.

But yeah I really like those G8's. They should have made the M6 an option on the GT. I might take one for a ride I've never even sat in one yet. Actually I've been thinking about GTO's w/ the ls2. They are getting pretty cheap and I'd like a M6 street cruiser. The new Camaro looks great but will be pricey for a while, plus the interior looks dumb.

I figure they won't like it so much if I start hacking down trees at my apartment complex...guess I'll have to go over my parent's house to do it. Hells yeah, BITCHES!

DannoWS6, do you ever ride down to the Berlin Turnpike when the weather gets nicer? We can go for a cruise in mine if you want to check one out. It's just an A6 GT, but it'll give you an idea.

G8's are sweet. I saw one on the dyno at this past saturday put down 330 at the wheels. I know it had an exhaust, not sure what else. Very sweet ride though.
