New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - confused

aite so this is where im at rite now.. i just purchased a used ls6 intake without egr. so from what i hear all i need is to get a block off plate to cancel it out. now im also ordering some new long tubes this weekend and wanted to make sure that, since im blocking out the egr in the intake i dont need to get the headers with egr rite?? i could just tune it out anyways? since i have a freindly smogger around here. sorry if it doesnt make to much sence... newb

Yes, if you get the block out plate you will be fine with the non EGR headers. Just get a tune also

whats the block out plate i have no egr and i dont think i have a block out plate

If your car didn't have EGR originally then you wouldn't have need for one. It is a part designed for cars that had it originally but removed it for what ever reason (usually race headers with no emissions fittings).

With longtubes? Yes.

Get the O2 extentions and use them for the fronts. Have your tuner delete the rear 02's.

Well the front ones the car needs to run. It uses those to determine how rich the exhaust is and adjust the fule/air/apark accordingly. The rear ones are for emissions purposes only and do not affect performance. Most guys just have the rears tuned out when using longtubes

if tuning rears out, u can plug them with oil drain plug for a toyota (18mm x 1.5 pitch). can get these at advance auto for a couple of bucks
