Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - Selling the LQ4, Buying an RX7 FC & a SBC Build, Advice?

I am looking for advice, esp if I should be asking else where and information.

I found the Granny Speed kits, 1580 for everything including AC and PS but I would like to talk to others who have done it.

Personally I think I can get some items cheaper and I think a few items should not be all that hard to make for myself. (A huge reason to ask those who have been down this road.

I would also like some other advice on the build etc.

The RX7 I bought is a GXL or GXU I forget which but the owner paid to have the harness converted to the Turbo 2 one and has the ECU to support it. I will sell the ECU obviously.

However since I want to run a SBC and a carb as well (I have access to some old Holley 650CFM's from a good friend who is helping me with this build) I really just want the Cluster and such to work so the wiring is something I would not mind some input on.

Also I was told the Rear End (He swapped it to the Turbo 2 Rearend) could handle 10 Sec passes on the T56 (I am keeping my LT1 T56 for this project) with the addition of a Pinion Snubber I believe granny's Sped called it.
Whats everyone elses input on this?

For my build I wanted to have a SBC that rev'd to a max of 8K, made peak power at around 7300RPM and was offset on HP vs Trq (Aka say 423FT Trq, 512HP) as I am still worried about putting this much Trq in a Shell that never really had to handle it. (Esp since I plan to drive this car quite often).
So advice on things I should do, motor builds is 110% Welcome!

Other than that lets start talking!

me personally wold keep the lq4, make it carb, to make a motor spin 8,000 is going to take some money, that h.p can be made at lower rpm with the 6.0 and more torque. easy to get power out of, but if u insist to go with sbc, i would do a sbc destroked to something like 377, so u could spin more rpms,

u can go with mech. flat tappet cam and some good sbc heads
along with a good flowing intake like a vic. jr. 8k rpm idk, but it will make for nice strong motor.

if its a S4(1986-88) make sure when you take the 13b engine harness out, that you keep the four blue wires within that harness that go to your wiper motor if you plan on using those still.
you will have to separate that from the engine harness. (the harness bundle is on the pass. side FIY)

Thanks Importkiller def good info though. I have been looking for a good conversion site but they all seem to be mediocre (SP?)

I decided to keep my LQ4 and LS6 Heads and Carb that. It will take a little longer but it will be the best build after looking at everything else.
