The answer is stock, stock, stock and stock. Any LT1 parts will swap to the LS1 car. Cheap and easy to find. Any distributor will work, use LT1 headers.

so the moroso oil pan will fit on the sbc its a full drag car no power steering or ac pretty much nothing at all but crank pulley and alternator and will the full length lt1 headers will fit with no problems.

Thats the smartest thing i have ever heard. You could sell the ls1 etc and make a killing because everyone wants it. Make sure you get an lt1 cross member so you can use the stock mounts if so desired. Also not sure on the header clearance but if you keep the ls1 rack it will give you more header clearance. Angle of the steering shaft. I don't remember who makes the manual racks cuz i want power steering for my 10 wide front wheels
